Thread: got my black sun helmet!!!

After reading on here somewhere that it was given as a loot drop in the tier 4 duty mission in the freelance pilot profession, I took the duty mission and hit the spacelanes, with a guildmate as a wingman.. halfway thru the mission, he had to bug outt o go tag a new member, leaving me to finish off the last three waves alone... sometime during these three waves, I got the helmet as a loot drop.. I suspect it was in the final wave of tier 5 Black Sun piulots, cant be sure.. but this thing looks badazz. After seeing the freelance ace helmet and jacket, I think I am gonna stick to my heavy duty black jacket and this helmet....

bah im up to 4 completed duty mission of the same.... WHERES MY HELMET lol.
at least I know im on the right track.

I have made 10 mill prestige points in the last 2 weeks on black suns alone. No helmet yet

I ran the kidnapping mission 6 times last night and the only thing I got out of the ordinary was "a log." I guess I'll get back at it tonight. I did get a few level 8 and 9 weapons.
Is "a log" worth anything?

Where are you Master Pilots (I assume Master, as per the reference of Prestige points) finding Black Suns? I've read that you can get Duty missions at Master level, but haven't found out where - is that what you're doing? And if so...where do I sign up?!

There are black sun near the red sun chimera in Endor.
BS duty missions can be recieved from the RSF trainer in the Palace. I dont know who can all take them but i think tier 4 privateers of any squadron.

Red Sun Chimera is in endor not dath.

I've searched high and low for information regarding getting black sun duty missions.. by searching the forums, I see that you can get RSF duty from the palace across the hall from the library.. you can get corsec from the dantooine mining outpost cantina, and you can get the rebel mission from the nym/rebel guy in the hotel.. ok great..
I'm 4-4-4-4 Alliance Pilot, just one mission shy of mastering (the corvette run), and try as I might, none of these trainers would give me duty missions..
corsec tells me to bug off.. RSF says 'hey there' but nothing else.. and the rebel guy says 'you're supposed to go talk to the admiral at doaba guerfel' (the guy who gives the 'vette mission)..
so my question is, am I out of luck until I master pilot? only masters can backtrack to do old duty missions?
Sure I could go do the 'vette quest but I get blown to smithereens and I haven't had much luck finding some people to help me =P so I'm perpetually stuck at 4-4-4-4

I am curently 4/4/3/3. I got the helmet doing duty missions for black sun S&D from the RSF trainer in theed... I have been taking friends on these with me since I got the drop, and nothing yet, looks like when they say rare, they mean it...

Sounds like you're trying to get duty mission from a trainer of your own squadron. Can't do that until you've mastered (maybe not even after). If the BS mission was offered by either of the other trainers for the other 2 Rebel squads you could get is as 4/4/4/4.

So at least we don't have to look for the Black Sun Ace NPCs and can make some money in that time...

Same here. With some added firepower the missions go faster, but hey we're making money at the same time
