The mission was one of what I like to call "body filler" missions (given to you to go grind XP). From what I have seen of Tier 4, everytime the admiral trains me, she gives me a specific mission. After completing it, you get a list of duty missions, always the same list.. it was from this list, the black sun search and destroy at endor that I got the drop. *Update* While coming back from getting my azz handed to me by a gunboat in kessel (good XP there tho), I ran into another guy hanging out in theed who had the helmet. I forget his name, but he said he got his from the same mission as I did, but he said it took him like 12 tries. So, two confirmed drops on Scylla... Black sun duty mission from the RSF trainer we affectionately call the "wench", in sector D-435 endor. One tip, halfway thru other pirate factions WILL join the party, and they wont be on your side... Disable them and keep movin to next WP, or they just keep spawning. And bring friends with you if you can to help take some of the heat off ya (we got caught in a gangr*pe of black sun and hutts, 10 of them to every one of us, and there were three of us). I suspect the drop is somewhere in teh last three waves of attacks, each of these waves has tier 4's and 5's in em...

BS duty missions can be recieved from the RSF trainer in the Palace. I dont know who can all take them but i think tier 4 privateers of any squadron.

I'm 4-4-4-4 Alliance Pilot, just one mission shy of mastering (the corvette run), and try as I might, none of these trainers would give me duty missions..

corsec tells me to bug off.. RSF says 'hey there' but nothing else.. and the rebel guy says 'you're supposed to go talk to the admiral at doaba guerfel' (the guy who gives the 'vette mission)..

so my question is, am I out of luck until I master pilot? only masters can backtrack to do old duty missions?

Sure I could go do the 'vette quest but I get blown to smithereens and I haven't had much luck finding some people to help me =P so I'm perpetually stuck at 4-4-4-4

You're stuck. The Alliance trainers will not give you any duty missions because you're next mission is the vette. I'm 4/4/3/4 and can do the Black Sun duty missions out of Lok. Once I get trained in my final tier-4 box, I won't be getting any duty missions until after master.

I ran the kidnapping mission 6 times last night and the only thing I got out of the ordinary was "a log." I guess I'll get back at it tonight. I did get a few level 8 and 9 weapons.
