Well, here goes...

Would it be ok for me to fly a JSF as a PvE ship? I would never PvP in it, I just want one for the extra gun mount and cause I just want one, but would it be ok for PvE?

I'm not afraid that I would have problems with it in DeepSpace it's jsut I fear Leaph and his band of angry villagers, and I think he would BBQ me if he found out I PvP'ed in it.

You're asking the wrong question here...

What you need to be asking is "Does Leaph pay the $15 a month so I can play SWG?"

No?

Well then, there's your answer.

In PVE, you can fly any damn thing you want. In PvP it kinda goes the same way, but you could look pretty lame depending on what choices you make. Again, fly whatever you want, just be prepared to look lame PvPing in a JSF. (Albeit, not as lame as pulling an EPulse or loadganking.)

Fly whatcha want, every one is entitled to thier own tastes.

I for one fly an A-Wing most of the time, or an Advanced X(read: overpowered) when I'm going for serious loot : time ratio.

I PvE in mine all the time when I'm farming, but as an Imperial we don't get a three gun ship. I hate farming, so I figure I may as well fly something snappy fast and agile and try to enjoy it.

I flew it in PvP once, but I got two tells begging me to put it away.

There are much better options for PvE in every faction. TIE Oppressor, X-wing advanced or B-wing, Rix....(forget trying to spell any of the blacksun ships). Ultra heavy fighters make you laugh at just about any NPC out there. I suppose you could kit out a JSF to be ok at PvE but I wouldn't bother.

I think it's kind of a shame that people feel they have to ask others if it's okay to fly a ship they like. I don't think that was the intent of the community. For PvP, the jsf/bel/rgi and epulse for that matter just don't fit within the context of a PvPevent, since the idea is usually to have a wide variety of ships participate. But for PvE and day to day usage, while they aren't my cup of tea, there is nothing wrong with using them. Nobody here is any kind of arbiter of what goes on in the game. You pay you money; YOU and only you get to decide what you want to do to fly. Don't let peer pressure influence any decision you make.

As long as you show some courtesy to others by not using it as a griefing tool, I don't think anyone will have a problem with you. Me, I jump from ship to ship as the mood strikes me. last month, it was the Bel. This month I'm flying a Heavy Syck. I'm likely going to pull out my DL soon because I miss it. Fly 'em all, I say. As long as you fly.

If you want to participate in organized PvP, you should be prepared to outfit a pre-ROTW ship, a Vaksai, or a heavy. Any one of them is more than adequate for PvP and are completely acceptable.

Woooahhhhh there fellows.

I might not fly a JSF and I might think it's ugly but I NEVER said don't fly one.

I kind of resent that actually. I have nothing against people flying them and in pvp I don't mind frying them so don't make it look like I have the attitude that -nnone- should fly one. Yep I'd prefer to see non relics flying around but I never -ever- said to anyone "Hey get out of that ship now." I have said "You'd probably get more out ofa *insert ship here*" though.

Hell, aside from large scale events, I don't even mind fighting those who fly Royal Guard interceptors in pvp. You can fly anything you like and throw it at me and I won't complain.

I just have a nazi style viewpoint against the use of Epulse, loadcamping and launchmissile.

Now I'd appreciate it if people stop refferring to me as some kind of JSF nazi please.

I fly my A-wing and play as fairly as is humanely possible (I hope) but apart from on the Epulse etc things I don't judge.

That depends on one's fighting style. Some prefer heavy fighters, some small ones. Each has advantages and disadvantages. The heavy fighters pack one heck of a whallop but fly like a brick, and the small fighters can evade enemy fire, easily engage almost any enemy and fly circles around them, but they are limited in loadout and firepower.

I prefer small fighters myself, and most often go up in either my Grivious fighter, or Dunelizard. (Gotta finish re-loading the Lizzy with good parts though...)

I don't need permission from everyone else to use my ship. I pay for the game, Ispent the hours earning the XP to be able to use my JSF, and if I want to use it in PVE, or even PVPfor that matter, I WILL, dammit. and for those of you who complain, you can take a star destroyer and cram it.

Just my view on the matter.
