A great role sepecific ship. You certainly cannot dogfight easily in her and especially not when you first start to fly her. The Bwing, and for that matter all the heavier fighters in the game have noticeable inertia sliding when turning. She turns nicely at about 50% throttle, but she accelerates and Decelerates slowly. If you are willing to put in the time to learn to fly her properly, and to outfir her properly she can be a VERY mean ship., and fun as hell to fly. I have even been successful PvPing in her...my record is 12-3 in my Bwing
That said, she IS a bomber, and it is a shame there is little master level content in the game for the role of a bomber

Pig in fighter engagements, powerhouse in hard target engagements.

I'm interested in hearing what people have to say about the B-Wing. I've spoken with a couple of Shipwrights asking why there are no B-Wing chassis around. The common answer I have received is "Because it's a pig and it's not really worth the money".
I have not gotten to the point where I could fly the thing if I wanted to, but I'm interested in the experiences of those who have flown it.
Does it suffer from the same problems of the Y-Wing, being a tank and not maneuvering very well, or is there something else?
The thing seems nasty as all get out with the potential weapons loadout it has and the mass seemed to leave lots of room for turning it into a flying tank.

She is not a forgiving ship
However, if you put in the time to learn how to fly her, and get the right gear, she pays the effort back.
I wouldnt give up mine, for the work she's intended to do, but dont expect to dogfight, thats for sure.

The B-Wing is a powerhouse for sure. But as with all ships the right load out is critical. Unlike most ships she takes a lot of getting used to though. Don't think toy can steam into a fur ball at full throttle and go hard over on the stick because nothing will happen. Keep the throttle at 50% and she is a good PvE ship but be gentle with the controls and think about where you want the nose of the ship to point at the end of your turns, as she will just keep turning if your not careful. That’s the bad bit out the way. The good bit is put something in the gun sights and pull the trigger and it will go away in short order. I have 1 Lev 10 and 3 lev 8 guns on mine and I will shred a tire 5 gunboat in 1 pass. As for the fast moving fighters cut the throttle to 1/4 and let them go head to head, target its engines and it will be dead in space on the first pass. As for PvP they do work. I do very well PvP.
So give it a try and good luck.

I'm enjoying it I stripped my xwing and put some uber guns into her 3 of them
(I could use some better shields) but with those 3 guns you can take out thing quite quickly. It's hard at first to get used becuase you prolly used the Awing or the Xwing and they are really menuverable. Bwing is not its slow to slow down, and over steers in space, but once you get used to it you can do some major damage
Plus its Look cool!

You're using a Bwing, but only 3 guns? that's like pizza without cheese...

Hmmm... from my experience its really the higher the mass the better equipment you need.
For a good B-Wing you will need probably some of the really excelent components while for A-Wings you /only/ need good low level equipment to be effective to a degree.
It is also more complicated to find a good "template" for heavy ships like that, especially for PvP.
Against gunboats or similar, B-Wings are just awesome of course.

I've flown the B-Wing for about 6 weeks.....I love it, wouldn't fly anything else. I'm 3-0 in PvP. When u turn or roll, just when u get where u want to be just "plug it", meaning snap back in the opposite direction til u stop, then let go. Still not as responsive as a X-Wing, but she holds her own well. If u wantto dogfight in her: 1) use the reward engine 2) get the best shields and armor u can find, so u can take that extra beating, kinda serves as a offset for lack of manuverabilty.3) get the most powerful guns u can get 4) Get engine overide, Reactor overide, Weapon capacitor overload, and Weapon overload( for extra hitting power). Then just practice, practice , practice. You'll see what i mean

Actually, the Privateer L8 reward engine, post RE, is a better choice for a Bwing.

The B-wing is a great bomber. With 240k mass plus 4 wpn hardpoints this tank can throw so major firepower out. Problem is there isn't any content worthy of this beast. Dogfighting is 99% of what you'll be doing at master level atm.
I put in an engine with 70+ in Y/R/P and kicked on EO4 and that thing still handled like a pig. It has no place at all in a dogfight and because of that has no real value in combat atm. If they made capital ships that fighters had a very hard time with B-wings might take care of that nicely. But without something to use these beasts against they will just collect dust.
TBH a Y-wing Longprobe handles like a sportscar compared to the B-wing.

My too bits,
Any of the large mass ships require constant throttle management. Im really unsure how you can get the max out of one of these hogs without constant tweaking of the power. In a turn you chop the throttle say to 60% and if your not carefull you overshoot and miss any oppurtunity to take an adequate shot. What i have found is to initiate the turn with reduced throttle but increase it as i become close to the direction i want. When in kessel i might have my stick pulled all the way back and I only adjust my throttle to increase/decrease my turn radius, therefore making the inertia work for me not against me. Takes some getting use to and seems extremely odd at first because you are so use to using your control surfaces (ie pitch) to change direction and now your using the mass of your ship in relation to the power to swing the beast around. Additionally, use roll in conjuction with pitch yaw actions as you can increase your ability to change direction even quicker. I Ace one imp squad in the tie bomber and my alt aced reb, and to be honest both will have BUFF's on their data pad. I like them, but you have to really work on how you fly them to get any utility out of them.
Cheers

I would have to say that the B-Wing handling is not too much differentfrom that of the Longprobe. Sure, I continue to enjoy my X-Wing.I just couldn't get use to my A-Wing with just one WeapSlot, so I deeded her and now have the Nova taking the last slot. (I hope the data slots free up a bit more after the Wookie update as I would like to experiment withthe A-WIng a bit more)
I've been quite content with the way she handles in the Kessel. I also tend to agree about the @50% to @60%throttle level as a nice range to fight without over-turning too much. Practice is the key.
Currently my B-Wing (Zebra I) is outfitted as:
1) Black on black paint job using Textured Kit 5 to get the look...hence the name.
2)3 lvl 8 weaps (1 is theTricon "Cannon") and 1 lvl 6 laser. (I use weap overload 3)
3) 2 Mark III proton launchers
4) Nice re'd lvl 8 engine with speed @84.5 and PRV in the Mid 70's. (I use engine overload 3)
5) Lvl 6 re'd capacitor with @1140 energy and 45.7 recharge. (I use capacitor overload 3)
6) Lvl10 shield with @2200 front/back. Not re'd yet.
7) Lvl 10 Armor back lvl 8 armor front.
8) Lvl 6 re'd Booster
9) Lvl 6 re'd Reactor. (I use reactor overload 3)
SureI get teased by my fellow co-pilots about this ship, but then again what fun is flying if you can't add a bit of excitement to it!
Just some humble input from me.
