PvE: MK III photon torpedo's (for vette's n such)
tube weighs 5700 mass.
PvP: MK II Imarge-rec missles.
Also weights like 5700 mass, fast locking, ignores most countermeasures.

Damage, and any leftover into quanity. In PvP refire rate is a moot point in my opinion. Only really use them in my T/O. When you fire 3 at once... refire at what?
Same for the photons really, only really use them on the vette when im being lazy, and well... i have plenty of time to take it down.

I don't use any ords at all. For both PVE and PVP my blasters hit hard enough. I don't have room for ords anyway

Ordnance for PvP?
Only truely unskilled pilots use this
3x IR2 at an opponent? Money out the window.... I kill them just as fast guns only
Ordnance for PvE?
Seeing as everything in space is soloable with guns only I cant see why I should spend cash on blowing it up

I make sure to carry missiles in any ship I load up for PVP. An A-Wing ace can evade blaster fire for minutes on end, and it's in the best interests of the squad to eliminate these high-priority targets as quickly as possible.
I've been using Mk II Image-Recs (5415 mass for the launcher, tight in my Interceptor but workable) with a point of experimentation in quantity to knock them up to 5 per pack and the rest into max and then min damage. (With high enough resources, your missiles will start out at 25% ammo experimentation, which will put them at 5 per pack without any added points, but Starsider hasn't had a good poly radio spawn in a while and I can't spare the best for missiles anymore.)
Refire is one of the Image-Rec's best stats; it doesn't work the same way a gun's refire rate does, but rather determines how long it takes for you to gain lock on your target. Still, I find they lock fast enough to not need any more experimentation in this stat. This is in a highly maneuverable Interceptor that has an easy time keeping my target in view, though, so on an Oppressor or Y-Wing or whatever it might be worth it to bring the refire down some more.
For PVE, I don't generally find missile launchers to be mass-effective. They can work really well for targeting components on Corvettes, in which case I use Mk III Concussions--large quantity, high enough damage to sometimes drop a component in one shot, and a relatively low 5.4K mass--but on anything else, I'd rather spend the mass for bigger guns, engines, shields, armor, etc. They just don't do enough damage in PVE to justify messing around with.

Thanks for the info everyone. Since I'm not at the point of pvp'ing yet or taking down huge targets, I think I'll invest the 5700 mass and 1k+ energy on heavier guns

Go up against an A wing running EO4, then re evaluate that statement please
I prefer to save them only for A wings, although i know of some who use them excluseivly. As for money out the window, meh i think most pilots make enough to cover the cost. Beign able to manufaucture your own is pretty cool too.

Hmm, learn something new everyday. Ive been doing min/max/ and quanity to about 5 myself. Refire never occured to me.
