Thread: STORM SQDRN: THE EMPEROR'S REDHEADED STEP-CHILDREN?
UPDATE
O.K. I was able to finally finish all of Storm Squadron's tier 3 missions. Special thanks to Hyper-Matrix for sticking with me on the last two. I can't tell you how happy I was to finally be done with Captain Denner. After he transferred me I immediately /spit in his face and 'stormed' out of his office.
If you are still having trouble here are some tips...
Anzel's Tips for Storm Squadron Tier 3
GROUP: No matter how hard something in this game is there are always people who say 'solo'd it'. That's just garbage. These missions are designed to be played in a group so save yourself the trouble. If you're not in a guild then go seek one out. Good guilds are always looking for new members so it shouldn't be too much trouble. These missions are crazy hard and crazy long but with a small group they are very manageable.
TIE Bomber: Once you are 3,2,2,2 you are certified to use the TIE Bomber. Buy one right away and use it to do the next 3 missions. The number one key to finishing these missions is to NOT DIE. No matter how big your group is or how l33t the other members of the group are the mission is over if you die. Get a TIE Bomber and load it to the gills with the biggest shield and best armor money can buy. Zipping around in a 50K mass Interceptor may look cool but the survivability of the Bomber is unsurpassed at Imp Tier 3.
Become a L33t D00d: If you don't have the best equiptment out there then go buy it ASAP. It makes a big difference. Using crappy looted equiptment will make your life a living hell. Either get the top of the line in crafted equiptment or RE'd looted components.
Screw the Force! Use Your Droid! I'm seeing many pilots ignore the use of onboard droids/computers. The droid programs in column 4 of the pilot tree are basically like buffs for ships. They are not very straight forward to setup but will make a difference. You have to acquire three items here. 1.) A droid interface. 2.) An onboard computer 3.) Blank memory modules. Once you've acquired all three items it's just a matter of programming the blank memory modules from the context menu and then initializing the droid/computer into your datapad. Then load the computer with the programmed modules and load the computer into your ship. Be careful though. Each program can enhance the performance of your ship but comes with a trade off of some sort. Personally, I like overloading my weapons but that's just me.

For all tier3 missions but the last one (where you are asked to destroy 4 incoming waves in almost the last part of it) you don't need to kill all the ships, just disable them.
Nope. On Tier 3 Mission 3 you have to destroy them or you fail. You are escorting a decoy shuttle and if you don't actually destroy the Rebels or they don't 'buy' the decoy. Again, I'm talking about Storm Squadron here. There are more than 4 waves on every leg of every mission.

I do have a problem with mission length, but length adds to difficulty. Its a toss up on what to do here.
I see what you're saying but the point I'm trying to make in my original post is that Storm Squadron specifically has longer missions than any other squadron.
They are longer than everyone elses.

When I first started pilot I did naboo imp first. Then decided I would rather do storm squadron. I noticed that in general all of storm squadrons escort missions are longer, at least they seem to be longer.
Thank you. I have done missions (in groups) for both squadrons and they seem longer to me as well. I know I'm not going crazy
never had that with privateer.

I was able to solo all the tier3 missions but the last one and no, I didn't have to kill all the incoming fighters, just disable them (or even ignore them) and focus on the bombers attacking the shuttle. And yes, I'm also talking about the Storm Squadron.

Really? You were able to just disable or ignore them? Even on Tier 3 Mission 3? Solo you say?
Well. I guess that all of the people from THIS thread must be wrong then huh?

Well, since I've had to recruit help for these missions, I've received the opinions of Inquisitor pilots as well as privateer pilots - "Man! your missions SUCK!"
Also, since it requires help, I'm not likely to get much of it because I have to ask so many people to put aside so much of their time at once to help me finish. Most people say "I'd love to help but I'm not going to be on for more than a few hours today."
