I don't think SOE realise that just because some people aren't High level players on the ground....they actually still play the game. This expansion seems to be all about high level content which means you've got to have combat professions. That basically rules out the expansion for people who concentrate soley on crafting and entertaining professions and as for the whole 'sidekick' system...who seriously is going to buy an expansion...just so they can be a SIDEKICK and have to rely on someone else to access the content -they- bought too? It just doesn't make sense.
I agree completely. In fact, I posted this on the Expansions forum about it:
As much as I love quests, SOE really needs to stop with the standard MMO practice of putting out expansions for "high level" characters. It works for other games, because being a crafter doesn't count against you in other games. In EverQuest 2, being a level 50 Tailor doesn't do a thing to prevent me from leveling up as a Templar. It doesn't make me less effective, and it doesn't artificially cap my levels at some lower point. In SWG, it does. If I am a Master Tailor, I will NEVER be "high level", because the highest level I can reach goes from 80 to somewhere around 60. And gods forbid I actually want to do anything other than just sew, like maybe have a few vendors to sell what I make or harvest my own resources. That sets the cap even lower.
I understand that people at the "top" need more challenges. But a lot of us will never climb that high, and we'd like some new content, too.
Ditto. When I started SWG the thing that blew me away was that your char could be anything you wanted it to be. You didn't have to choose from the start and you could drop classes and start new ones whenever you wanted. Problem with the CU it forced people to have a CL if they actually wanted to see anything besides their crafting station. Fair enough, I'll just make another character. Hmm one character per server, unless you unlock Jedi which forces you to be a Jedi permently with that character. So basically, if you'd like to be a crafter and see the game (and being as this is a pure player econemy, we need ya!) You have to first make a Jedi, then use the other character as a crafter who never leaves his house. Or the other option is BUY MORE ACCOUNTS!!! I'm sure SoE prefer the later.
I'm sure there's actually only about 50 different people on Ahazi and an average of634 acounts per person. (BS numbers but I'm sure you see my point

If there is no decent Space content then I'm not buying it.
Can't friggin move hardly for tripping over Jedi, fed up with the attention they seem to get in-game.
And Mustafar, who the *ell cares about some stupid lava pile floating in space.
HOTH, HOTH, HOTH.
Do Sony understand that most of the real SW players actually liked the first 3 films better than the recent 3 we have been doled out, and are probably over the age of 12.

This just floors me!
IM a new player yet i have read about the troubles the older player base has felt and it makes me sick i came ot this game from another that the company had screwed up only it seems to find this company has screwed this game up as well.
I LIKE to fly that's about all i like to do its what made me decided to stay in this game because after 20 mins of my first time in game on the ground i was ready to give the account to my son for good. i spend about 2 yrs grinding out toons on the ground in daoc. Another 2 yrs or so grinding out toons grounded in a even smaller sandbox called the sims online, Im sick of having my game life bound to the ground i want to FLY in space!
I have yet to do any PVP but that doesn't matter due to in this game there is no ranking system. No way to track your standings in the pilot field out PVP effects nothing on the ground. From just a few weeks of flying in this game i have come to think pilots were a great little expasion that is over and done and now pushed off into a far corner!
All that matters seem to be the jedi. i under stand from part 2 of the Friday thing that jedi are there number 1 costumer source ( don't believe me go see the chart your self) force combat being the most popular skill in game.
What about the rest of us?
Sure ill admit the thought of ONE day grinding out a jedi seems cool to me. i mean come on IM a rebels fan my hero's in show were jedi.
Some one said they liked the original 3 best and i have to agree i did to these last 3 films ( i still have not seen EP3) sort of were let downs for me i was floors during ep2 when i came to realize the senate was actually the formation of the evil empire!
Well sorry to cut off here but this is getting long and getting me upset IM going to go FLY some ITS what I like to do!

I've said my peace about this new expansion. Not that I expect anyone to actually read it all. I also submitted it (yeah, the whole thing) through the Feedback section of the SWG website. Gods willing, something of my message will get through to someone.

This expansion wouldnt be so bad if they had introduced capital ships with it. In fact, it would be great. Then again maybe we should be thankful they arent going to rush them
But... the capital ships probbably wont be in this expansion and the whole thing basically caters to jedi and uber high level players. Bah, im definately not buying this expansion.

My alt is "high-level". You could be my sidekick...

To what end? I've got more pride in myself than to beg my friends to lead me through quests. I'll help them (IF I get the expansion) do their own quests, and if we can do the quest for me at the same time, great, but I refuse to expect anyone else to do something for me. The sidekick system is a slap in the face to everyone who has any sort of sense of accomplishment on their own.

Hm. So far, I'm not seeing a single reason any player would want to buy this expansion as a pilot.
Could always be more to it, but I won't be holding my breath.
