Before rotw came out, thats about where I had thought the new ships would be. The ships that really puzzle me are the heavy novices. I mean, why? Why give themtwice (or more)the mass of any jtl, single gun fighter? What was their logic for doing this? It just doesn't make sense. It elimates at least 50 percent of the ships you gain through your path. But back to the topic at hand, the RGI is a cheater ship, and the JSF and B22 are over powered! Gets ready for the flames.

You wanted flames... here you go

Sowhile the JSF and the B22 ships that are at fault, the RGI "pilots" are cheaters? It's an Imperial conspiracy i tells ya!!!!

It couldn't possibly be a bug, bad coding, anything like that...and i think you need to make a distiction between the 2.

it's your implication i have a problem with and i think you'll lose a lot of support for your argument by targeting pilots of an iconic ship... many of whom, as said above, won't pvp in it.

BTW have you ever flown one?

" Why give themtwice (or more)the mass of any jtl, single gun fighter?"

The answer to this is really simple. All the ROTW and later ships, including the heavy novice ships are balanced with each other in mind and they forgot the pre-ROTW ships.

The thing that you all forget is that the Z-95 is supposed to be a completely VIABLE starfighter, even if it is a bit older and inferior. The newbie form is absolutely NOT viable in any situation above tier 2, tier 3 if you are just that good. The ship has been relegated to the newbie scrap pile, when some people very well might want to play it, and they should be able to too. Hence, the need for an upgraded Z-95 and Scyk.

There may have been a "need" for these ships for higher level pilots, but there wasn't a "need" to keep the certifications for them at novice/first skillbox. It trumps the mass and equipment game that new pilots are supposed to cope with, and at the end of the day, that's not a good thing. Problem is a lot of us are part of the problem, since instead of promoting the "real" ships and teaching new pilots how to play the game, we've often been taking the copout answer and saying "buy a heavy" If I did it in the past, I don't know what I was thinking, and I apologize, but from here on in I refuse to recommend to any new pilot that they use a heavy mass variant, and I hope the certification will be changed to reflect that this is not meant to be a "newbie cheater"

I came up against one of these last night in DS (another person in DS on farstar is as rare as rocking horse poop) and from someone can take down the those tier 5 droid fighters in under 30 seconds, in a 5 minute dog fight i hit this guy...twice.

I'm not the best pilot in the world, but even i can hit more than that in a 5 minute dog fight, in a mock duel i had with another JSF flyer we were constantly pinging each other, but this thing just felt like when ships were bugged and couldn't be hit from the sides, top or bottom.

Just my 2 cents.

Damn Psiko, excellent point. I've been guilty of this in the past.

Agree with you completely Psiko, I see no reason that the heavy variants of the newbie ships are newbie skill box level certs. The TIE line makes up for this with the "light duty fighter" but then makes the TIE heavy cert only 1XXX. Rather, the Z-95 should have a "light duty" line and then have the "regular" (now the Heavy) Z-95 line raised up to at least 3XXX, same with the TIE Heavy and the Scyk.

I just want the hitbox and model to coincide with each other. I don't care if they shrink the thing down to the size of a JSF or B22. There's no reason why a model should be any larger or smaller than its hitbox.

Its a cheater ship!

Ahh no, a REAL cheater ship has:

- (censored) (censored) lvl 10 parts.
- (censored) (censored) boosters
- (censored) (censored) shields

A REAL cheater ship is uncatchable and unkillable. REAL cheater ships have existed for MONTHS.

Just setting the record straight. Theres a big difference between a bug, and a cheat. Cheats you do intentionally and go out of your way to accomplish to gain advantage. A bug is a bug, and is something out of your control. You didnt do it, you didnt have to do anything extra, or out of the ordinary, its just there. Not your fault.

Edited for grammer.

QFE. If it woudlnt get be forum banned, id get ALOT more specific into the details of a real cheater ship. But out of curiouslty i did take the RGI out for a spin again last night. Decided to just slam myself right into the rebel space station. Whole lot of blue flashing but not many hits regestered. My previous post about the hitbox being obscured by the chassis model itself is probably accurate.

I find it odd that they don't really communicate with us much when piloting is the only profession really where you have to pay attention -all- the time. AFK play don't exist in space.

You obviously have zero clue about Entertainers and the state of the profession, and chose a very poor example. You should really try to learn something about a profession before you try to dump on it.

You're the wrong faction m8 I only ever see rebs in DS on Farstar andthink it'll probably stay that way till Freedom station is fixed.

I was there 10-15 mins ago, again testing theRGI out and there is something bugged with it, i'm still getting different results every other time i fly it. (and to the guy who tried to pvp in the b-22, sry, i don't pvp in this and was already jumping out by time you "tried" to hit me)

1st time i jumped in, i was getting hit as regularly as i do in a JSF or B-22, jumped out then jumped back in and wasn't getting hit at all. (It reminded me of the AoE bug in commando, one minute AoE works, next minute it doesn't, my money is on something like that happening)

Enough! The RGI is hard to hit, but not impossible to hit. I know the forums are just flooded with (sarcasm alert)posts saying "I was flying my grev, when i came upon an overt in a TIE bomber, so i went home to get my b-wing so we were evenly matched.

My point being the RGI is simply a superior ship. You get aDev to say the ship is bugged,I'll eat my words. Until then, I dont tell u what to fly so dont think u can do the same to me! SHEEESH! If you want to take an RGI down, bring friends. You rebel scum excel at being tough in groups.
