Thread: RotW Bugs/Issues (Updated 5/11)
- I have a tractor beam loaded in the 3rd slot on my Kimogila, and sometimes, but not all the time, the Beam ends up in the cockpit. It makes it really hard to see whats going on.
- Launching the new Heavyweight Syck from Theed has hung me in Loading screen four times. I haven't been able to fly it yet.
- Asteroids becoming indestrucible when hitting the edge of the map. I also found a huge pile of asteroid chunks at 0,0,0 today, all indestructible.
- I can't get texture kits to work. I choose 'set texture' and nothing happens. The kit is still in my inventory.
- I can confirm that '/findfriend' was not working in Space for me last night.
ok i would like to know where the heck are the new ship parts listed like the strakes and the heavy scyk and heavy kilmo. i would love to be able to fly them.
It seem i have been all over the bazzar.

It takes a while to collect Asteroid Resources, and I haven't found anyone eagerly offering them to my vendor. So Shipwrights are probably up in space trying out the new stuff, or trying to collect enough Asteroid to make the things.
So far I have made a Heavy Syck, and it's for me. Unfortunatly, I havn't been able to launch it. I hang on loading everytime.
- NPC AI tweaked to such an extent that they dodge, feint, evade as though all of them were Ace pilots (these were Tier 4 ships). As noted by others, ships seem to do be able to do a 180 from time to time also.
- I could shoot at the targetting cursor that leads enemy ships for 5 minutes and never (ever) hit them. I thought some of these ships were invulnerable mission-related targets from someone else's mission until I finally realized that it was bugged and experimented a bit. Only by shooting 1-3 cm behind the targetting cursor (depending on how steep the enemy's turn was) would I ever hit them.
- The enemey shield regeneration rate seems to be 5x higher than it used to be. What with all the dodging and weaving, I noticed that having gotten a hit (which only took their shields down 1-2% at most) by the time I got another hit their shields had completely regenerated. Only when they ran and I had a clear, steady shot at them could I make any headway against their shields. If I didn't have the Reb reactor / capacitor overcharge programs in my droids I never would have been able to take their shields down at all. Nearly constant firing was required in the best conditions (enemy ship running, clear shot) and I have the best weapons that my ship's mass allowance will support even with the reactor / capacitor overload programs in place. Even so, I drained my capacitor several times.
- Shots that used to hit the enemy shields now do not. It seems like the shield radius has been shrunk for enemy ships so that it is even inside the radius of, say, an X-wing's wings. Only hitting them dead-on had any effect on their shields, whereas near shots used to at least affect the shields because they extended further out (or something).
- One more AI note. Enemy ships no longer seem make big loops to engage in flanking maneuvres or circle around and get behind you. They are on you almost all the time, requiring even more target switching to get them off your tail, giving your previous targets time to regenerate their shields again.
- I am sure there is more but I am forgetting it just now.
I have also had these problems:
- launching into space from Talus
- Asteroid chunks that I can not hit because they have crossed zone boundaries
- Tractor beam and Mining laser firing 1 cm above targetting cursor (so I had to adjust down to actually hit the asteroid chunk)
- Incredible overspawning on some pilot missions, or missions consistently placed in proximity to large numbers of other hostiles (both my own and other's missions that I tried to help with)
- Enemy AI tweaked across the board so that even Tier 2 & 3 ships fly like Aces on speed/crank/steroid coctails seemingly combined with Star Trek-like inertial dampeners installed in their ships so that they can do 180 turns without having their brains plastered to the backs of their skulls.
- Lag. But then there has always been lag in space with all the big effects... just more to cause it now. One example: if you are close to an asteroid chunk when your mining laser blows it up the dust and debree cloud momentarily freezes you, denying you your best few seconds opportunity to target the little chunks that you are after before they disperse.
I hope that list helps some others who thought they had gotten rusty, or suddenly developed two left thumbs. Space, even with a couple Master Pilots with you, is a much more dangerous place these days. I have no idea how foks who are just developing their pilot skills are expected to cope.

A hint for the final interceptor mission by the way in case the corvette is getting taken out to easily - don't use a Bstrike on it! The NPCs from the Bstrike also take out the reactor leavingthe bridge very vulnerable. You only have to get as far as taking down the engines. After this, with each wave, make sure that you take out the Y-Wings and B-Wings first as they fire missiles at the reactor which WILL hit if they get the chance to fire them. Even just strafe them to make sure they come after you and not the corvette. The other fighters will mainly hit around the reactor, but will also get some lucky hits in sometimes. Did the mission twice like this last night with no problems. If anyone is on Eclipse and needs a hand, give me a shout....
Extreme lag in kashyyykian and corellian space, most likely caused by bazillions of asteroid chunks flying around broken off from asteroids by people doing the space mining quests.
Solution: Add a timer for the "lifetime" of asteroid chunks, if one is atm already present, reduce it A LOT (no chunk needs to stay in the world for longer than lets say 5 minutes).
I *never* had the "drunken bee" effect before, now I have it in both corellian and kashyyykian space (it's still fine everyhwere else, kashyyyk was fine for me during beta too, only difference I notice is the insane amount of asteroid chunks floating around)

I had put my tractor into weapons slot 2 of a Krayt, which I didn't realize was operated by a second person. As soon as I switched it into slot 4 (the mining laser being in slot 3) the mission worked fine. (Perhaps you don't have this specific problem, but it might help.)
Since I died twice so far doing this thing (and have failed again since only one Wookiee followed me out of the prison even though I talked to both of them) this gets irritating when your stuff decays and you get unwarranted bf.

Since RotW uploaded I have been unable to store clone data on Dathomir (important if one is going to the Imperial prison to break out Wookiees).
a) target the cloner and type /clone as a workaround
b) this is about PILOT issues around rotw, not generic issues.
