Congratulations!!

Lessons seem to have been well learned in this thread. How to be a better pilot, how to make sure you have popular support before you try to start a popular movement. My hat is off to you for your persistence, I'm glad you stuck it out.

lol.. great story, Eilla. It's that kind of seat-of-your-pants success that makes me like JTL so much. It just feels so much more Star Wars.

Congrats on pulling it off.

Congratulations!!!

I remember that mission well. Friend of mine was extremely frustrated by it, so I offered my help. I'd just mastered and still getting used to my B-wing. 2.4K shields, RE'd engines, the rest was loaded with what I could lay hands on. We go in, clear the first few legs, and I'm thinking, "Ok I know she's not that skilled of a pilot yet, but this stuff is easy." We clear the firesprays off the gunboat and I come in behind it to lay a few missiles into it. When it's guns light me up, I return fire and start to peel off. Still learning to fly my B, I don't get out of range fast enough, and it's guns rake me... front, then back as I accelerate away. "I'm going for repairs, be back in a few." I head for the station, then *WHAM* I get rocked. "What th'!?! It's chasing me!?!" lol this was the first week or so after the new AI went in. "Yeiiiiiah!" I haul for the station, my engines shot up, only my boosters keeping me ahead of it. I get repaired then swing wide to do a vrepair on my friend so she can get to the station. I don't remember the rest of the details, they blur into a barrage of high speed passes and blaster fire, but several quick repairs later and many passes at the gunboat, (neither of us really knew what we were doing... she was still learning to fly, and I was still tameing my flying brick) we finally got it disabled. I withdrew to give her the killing blow. We were quite elated!! I still remember the feeling of accomplishment.

Glad you stuck with it, and great job!

One observation: It was a glorious, glorious moment. No denying that. I think I actually scared my dog when I screamed "REDEEMED!"
