I managed to get to 4333 without any troubles but since last night and all day today I can't shot down anything.

Devs please get on top of this, I'm grounded untill it's sorted.

You got my support. I'm okay but my girlfriend can't take down her own targets, despite constatly pounding them with a dunelizard-o-death over and over again. No damage. Nothing.

I actually came on here to see how people were destroing this seemingly invulnerable ace pilot on my Tier I smuggler mission. I am glad someone mentioned this.

So far, I haven't had a problem until this ace pilot. Inmy three attempts at doing this mission, I noticed I can get the shields down to 60%, and then something suddenly happens. It becomes invulnerable - I can almost sense when it happens now. I see my shots land - the animation is obvious. But the shields don't go down in condition -- instead theycontinue to regenerate until they are a solid, unshakable 100%. Maybe I just got into a comfortable bombardment pattern, which just happens to beexactly the position that is bugged. I am not sure.

It feels like I am shooting at an adaptive Borg ship. <_< (Sorry for the Trek reference...)

I have this same problem, would love to see it at least looked into.

NO, the performance of a 1.7 Ghz Centrino is 64%-66% compared to a rusty 3Ghz P4.
Anyway many of you don't need/want help, just a little attention.
YOU CANT BULLSEYE SHOT IN JTL. FIRE A LOT AND ADJUST YOUR POSITION UNTIL YOU DEAL DAMAGE.
thats how i made it to imp 4433 in 12 hrs.

Check out this benchmark at Intel: http://www.intel.com/products/benchmarks/notebook/

It clearly shows how a 1.7 GHz centrino is faster than a 2.6 GHz pentium 4... besides, this is not a debate on CPUs, I was merely stating that my laptop easily meets the recommended hardware requirements, nothing more. I won't respond to further CPU debate claims, this is beside the point of this thread.

And why can't I bullseye in JTL if I have the skill to actually hit the ship on the first try? I agree you cannot do it *now*, but we should be able to. If my shot misses, then so be it, but if I anticipate my target's movement and aimed right and I hit the ship, then I should deal damage... how many times do I have to repeat this?

As for wanting attention, my discussion involves talking about a common problem many have, nothing more. Then you show up, contradict what others say without offering an constructive feedback, and then boast you got to pilot 4433 in 12 hours... congratulations. I give you credit and validation. Now let us continue this adult discussion that seems to affect so many of us.

FYI there is no such thing as a 1.7Ghz centrino CPU.
Its called 1.7 Ghz pentium m.
Centrino is just a label Intel slaps on machines that fulfill certain demands.
Sory to hijack your thread ActiveNick.
I have not had this bug happen to me, but i still hope they fix it

'Centrino' is actually the chipset on the motherboard which includes certain features(most notably the built-in wifi). =D

Same problem... and I'm severly dissapointed that we have yet to see any comment from the devs.

Yeah, it really sucks when I see my blaster bolt go into a ship, and the little explody effect thingy (shut up, that's what I call it)goes off, but there is not damage. Sometimes my bolthits the ship but there isn't even the explody thingy, it's just like the ship absorbed it...

Would be awesome if this were fixed.

The worst part is how "slow" the lasers travel. I hate comparing JTL to...the "other" games, but in those old games, I had a much easier time attacking enemies because I didn't have to guess how far ahead of them I had to shoot... I just shot AT them. Now I have this annoying "lead" which kinda works some of the time, but its not accurate more than 75% of the time...and even then you have to shoot around the edges of it... against a fast ship its worthless.

Hell yah!

I don't know what the hell they did in Beta, as this wasn't a problem when I stopped playing in Beta. But now that it's in retial, they totally borked it all to hell targeting wise. This is the worse system of any flight sim when the lead-target icon is SO far off! This is totally rediculous and it really detracts from the fun of the game.

This was there in beta, and yes we did complain about it greatly, but SOE choice to stick to their arbitary ship date instead of giving JTL the time needed to iron out the major bugs.
