Aside from that... Obviously the shields/armour for these ships just aren't at the level that can withstand the beatings that tier 5 and player controlled fighters dish out. Adding in some Tier 11 parts that are 100K+ in mass seems to be the easy solution.
The biggest improvement that could made to crewed ships though is to add specific master level missions that reward the crews that complete them. A space based theme park type of mission(s) that give unique item, credit and badge rewards for completing successfully.

Its simple. The Rank System wouldnt work as Neuatrals dont have this. Master is Master. You Get you Faction Pet as What ever faction. The way the pet Lvls up, is figure the XP a a timer. Only way pet gets the Xp is if it in its duty station.
Ok Jafo get his 3 mill in PPoints Want a Gunner. goes to His factions Ace mission trainer. Turns in the 3 mill to get his gunner Fac Pet. Examine. Gunner XP 0. Acuracy+1(insert Fair Number here). In effect ya have to grow the Pet by useing it in combat more combat more accuracy. All Faction pets should remain same. In Stats and Ability.
- Turret Lock.
Allow pilot to fire turrets in a locked-forward position if there is nobody occupying turrets. Either implement this as a standardoption or by means of an extra cost. This cost could either be a peice of equipment (e.g. "Turret Actuator") or a droid program (e.g. "Turret Control"). - Dynamically Assigned Cockpit Functions.
Allow the pilot/owner to assign ship functions to each cockpit chair. This way the ship owner can choose who is responsible for activating programs and firing ordanance. This covers all the cockpit personnel issues that have been discussed. - Memory Core Read-out.
The operations officer may not know all the commands available on the flight computer (or droid). So a menu of all available programs would be useful. - More storage than 75 items.
Speaks for itself. - Expand V6 computer memory core.
If at all possible I'd like to get a good mix of all three faction programs available to my comptuer.

Hmm, while I'm in favor of making the pilot control droid commands, a menu for the ops officer to use would make things a lot more interesting. Currently you can only activate one droid command at a time so it's not like you need an ops officer furiously working to manage these programs. If Multiplayer ships got to activate droid commands simultaneously for each person on the ship it could make managing shields and power in general very interesting. (IE if there are 3 people on bored, 3 droid commands can be run at the same time.
I hadn't considered giving MP ships enough astromech memory to handle a full set of lvl 4 programs from all sides but that would definitely be interesting to see and would give them a much needed edge.
Good points, these both need clarifying.

- I assumed the last patch raised the ship item limits to 100, but I never verified this. Anyone know for sure?

Great ideas.....
And on that note, for the rest still reading and have not chimed in on this specific topic:
What would you all like to see in regards to the cockpit (Pilot and Ops)??
1.The co-pilot should be able to target ships, these ships would show upwith orange (or some other color)arrows and brackets to the gunners and pilot.
2. Co-pilot should be able to fire ordinance.
3.In Ep V Han gets up and tries to make quick hyperdrive repairs. Co-pilots sould be given the ability to fly (with certain restrictions like loss of maneuverability or a time limit etc...) Regardless of faction.
4. Any faction should be able to co-pilot in any faction MP ship. We all use the same driod commands anyway.
5. new "Co-pilot only" commands. Set and activate Hyperdrive, activate an emergency hyper-jump (with ship damage penalties), Co-pilots should be able to set waypoints, there are pilot wingleader commands "all wings report in" etc.. a co-pilot should be able to say stuff to the crew like"Get to the guns were under attack!", or "We have sustained damage start repairing systems."..etc
Thease should make the co-pilot set more exciting.

And please... can we let the in-space repair/replenishment ship work for the multi-player ships too? It's such a pain that it doesn't work. ![]()

Pilots/Co-Pilots need to be able to use ANY MP ship station regardless of faction.
Pilots will still be restricted from owning cross factional ships,
but any master pilot should have the basic knowledge to fly about any ship.

Letting any old ace pilot would cause griefing. I remember having a party on my SoroSuub, and anyone would be able to come up and pilot the ship. I'd be down in the main deck, the ship parked in a great location for a nice view, and I'd be partying along with everyone else when suddenly the ship starts moving. I run up to the cockpit to find someone piloting my ship. It's a pain in the ass.
