The way I see it the Star in the Star Wars universe is very important.

I want to see a really richspace universe and the only way to do it is

having theground game almost the same as thespace one.Alot of

perfesions have alot to do with space or could(smugglers, bounty

hunters first and formost). And space stations could have a big part

with vendors, med centers and the works.

For the argument that JTL should be seprate from the the ground game (Jedi)

here is a thought. Where do you get your money to buy your ships and any

other uber equipment. I have seen alot of greedy Jedi looters and since

it is easier for them to get loot since no other profesion can out damage them

I would say they do have an advantage (higher level anyway).

I agree with your ideas about the expansions and as said i think jedis should have not advantage in space, but i want to reply to the second part.

Is not true that jedis get advantages, they have poor defence so most of the time they can't solo the bigger critters as other chars can do, the grief loot is also dependant mostly by the players, in the past there where problems about loot griefing and camping even from other professions.

Also atm JTL is very separate from the ground, is very difficult to find good high level stuff in vendors, most of the time the best components comes from rewardsand/or RE items that most of the time are not on the market.

To do a decent ship you have not to spend a fortune, consider that probably you can assemble a good ship just with the money a jedi will use to buy a single pearl.

So yes to start and do well in JTL you need to spend some money (not very much), but to put toghater an awesome ship most of the time you have to do it by yourself.

Zilod do you think there should be space bounties? and do you think smugglers should be smugling things in space through blockades or somthing? And I am asuming you are a jedi and don't want to be hunted in space.

As far as the credits I have spent millions and millions on ships and things and I don't even have a firespray. But you must admit if more people played in space (they don't now becuse there is not much content up there and PvP is a joke) the demand for high end parts would go up and you would be seing more auctions for thouse realy good loot drops or great stat low mass parts.

I think space bounties as it is now would be bad since just a couple of shots would kill you but if they make fights last like they do on the ground then why not.

If they make space fights last like they do on the ground it will be time for me to find another game. They are fine the way they are.

If you want fights that no-one wins and last half an hour, fight on the ground as a TKM.

Leave space alone. Some of us like the fact that it takes skill to win up here.

Don't get me wrong I like the skill part of JTL in fact I wish the ground game could be like counterstike. I just don't see JTL PvP as any fun as it currently is apperently I am right because I never see anyone in deep space. Player space bounties will never happen as it is now since the bh gets the first shot and thus the mark would dieright away.

Take a Koren War Fighter up against an F-18 this is moronic.

Its been said before, but by all indications, the Star Wars universe has been at a technological platue for thousands of years. You're thinking in terms of earth, where we've had a massive change in technology over a very short period of time. We don't see the same thing happening in the Star Wars universe. The technology of the prequels and the technology of of the old repulblic seems to be just about the same as the technology of the Imperial era. We've seen periods of human history on earth were technological advancement has virtually stopped, or even gone backwards, so its not like such a thing is unheard of or impossible. Another thing to keep in mind is Lucas's influences for the Star Wars setting. One of his supposed influences was Asimov's original Foundation trilogy. The Foundation trilogy tells the story of a galactic empire that's entering into a new dark ages, in which technological advancement comes to a halt and actually goes backwards for a while. I'm not suggesting that the Star Wars universe is slipping backwards in technology, but I do think Lucas was influenced by the idea of an empire in decay in which technological advancement had pretty much come to a standstill.

"For over 1000 generations the Jedi kept order in the galaxy". Yes I will buy that tech stayed the same during that era. BUT there has been war for 25 years and tech is dramatically improving as it always does in war time. The Jedi fighter had to drop its hyper drive off to be able to fly outside of hyper space its a piece of garbage. If its in game i want to be able to blow away its hyper drive it has to leave sitting some place.

While its true that stock Jedi Starfighters had to use a hyperdrive ring, this apparently wasn't because of limitations in technology. In EU material Anakin specifically modified his Delta 7 to have hyperspace capability without the need for the hyperdrive ring. You say the Jedi Starfighter is "junk", but where is your justification? From what we've seen on screen it has performance comprable to fighters in the Imperial era. You say that technology is "dramatically improving" during the time of the galactic civil war, but I just don't see it. The level of technology shown in the prequels appears to be pretty much on par with what's shown in the original trilogy. When most people think of technology improving during a war, they think of WWII. In that war and the immediate aftermath we saw radical new advancements, such as sonar, radar, jet engines, computers, atomic weapons, and the start of the space program. In the galactic civil war portrayed in the Starwars films, we haven't seen any radical advancements such as those things listed above. All of the major technologies that we see employed in the original trilogy appear to already be in full and regular use during the time of the prequels. Its true that some things may have been refined, and some technologies may have been applied in new ways and in grander scales, but that doesn't mean that items from the prequel era are somehow obsolete.

I see some problems with space bounties as it is now.

-onground are BH that have the "first" shot and the jedi can just fight back

in space this will be no viable as we all know how much shots are needed to take down a ship, actually is likelly will get his chance to fight back only after he is it the first time (that will also probably result in the ship destruction)

- the jedi was designed to be able to fight against multiple opponent, on the ground so it is possible for BHs to make an alliance and to attack a single.

In space jedi is not designed to fight against multiple opponents, he have a normal ship like everyone else and for sure can't use his sabre to deflect incoming bolts. to balance that you should give to the jedi some uber ship/shields/weapons and so on that will make them as much hated in space as they are on the ground and will transofrm their game in a joke...

- decay

on the ground if the jedi die gives an handicap, but nothing that can be handled, in space when you die a couple of time you can take your ship and /delete it with all things it have inside.

this problem is so big that devs made the Deep Space a nodecay zone for PvP seeing that almost anyone was PvPing (also i think this change was made too late, when many players had alredy bad experiences in PvP)

this is not only a Jedi problem but even a BH one as if you "fix" the other problems permitting to jedi to see BHs as enemies and/or making uber jedi ships components even BHs will have a high risk to have their ships completely destroyed after a couple of hunts.

overall i think that all these changes will have a bad impact on the space game experience and will be quite likelly to end whitout any Jedi or BH inspace.

also there is a more deep problem.

JTL was designed to be a twich game, like the old XvT, in this games is the player that do the difference, to think to give advantages to some classes will be against the idea of this kind of games and also totally pointless asif someone is not good with joystick he can have all the bonuses of the towrld but that will make not him a good pilot.

about the smugglers and space blockades... yes i think that smugglers should have some content like that, some months ago there where a post with some ideas in this forum with the "proposal" of some guidelines for smuggler missions.

also i think the problem of smugglers is simple (and probably hopeless): ther's nothing to smuggle...

for what i see SWG laks all the mechanic and structures to make a class like this really viable.

Every char can carry tons of itmes regardless of weight and encumberance, is it possible to sell everything on vendors, with high faction you can avioid to be scanned, even if you are discovered nothing really happens, /uberskill and the problem is solved.

all of this makes impossible to have a black market or illegall goodies, everyone can karry what he likes whitout much bothering or just browse the global map to where is located the nearest spice vendor.

all of this probably was done to give more freedom of play, i don't think is all bad, it have its pro and cons, but one of them is that a profession like the smuggler have no reason to exist.

As said i hope that smuggler mission will be implemented in future, both inspace but also on ground, but a thing will be to do a smuggler mission to get some credits, and a thing to play a smuggler in an appropriate enviroment.

I also agree witht the lack of content but i think in this case the problem are more elsewhere....

the lack of roles

yes we have different ships but in the end they are all similar and they fight similar enemies...

To make an example whitout many troubles i can use a bomber against "small fighters" or an interceptor against a funboat.

In a game like TIE fighters (i take it as an example because imp ship are quite specialized), a player had mostly to respect his role, i take a tipical base attack... TIE-fighters and interceptor generally enter in the battlefield as first and their role is to engage the base fighters or clear the eventual minefields, then is time for the bombers to attack directly the base, andprotected by another group of fighters...

as you can see everyone have his role, if the fighter attack the base he will be shot down in secs whitout doing any damage and if he will not protect the bombers they will be easilly dispatched.

atm in JTL you can do almost anythingwith every ship and to attack a base with 4 tie int is the same than to attack it with 4 tie bombers.

too static

enemy spawn and just to their works attacking the one around, after some times you know what and where to destroy and it will be always like that... for example when i attack the ISD it will be there shoting at me but it will not deploy storms of interceptors to shot me down. This way after a bit of practice will be possible for everyone to do what he want to do whitout any surprise... I know i can go to this spawn point and kill x then in this place to kill y, i don't go there as there is z that is too much for me and so on.

these 2 things in my opinion cut the interdipendence between players, there is not the need to build a group, to decide the roles and to plain a strategy and to fight an enemy that have its own strategies and forces to put on the field... all is alwaysthe same, go there, shot down x then y...

"static" missions for sure helpand are nice, but at some point they end.

i will like to see more dinamic missions and a betterroles definitions this way will be able for example to attack a base that can have a random number of fighters of different classes that will be deployed, or minefields, or maybe even the ability to call reinforcements and will be necessary to make a good teamwork to handle it.

ok i stop there that my english is crappy and confusedand this argument can get really huge

and yes my imp ace is a jedi eheh but i have a rebel and a privateer aces too

i felt a shiver down my spine...

could it be?

to use the jedi fighter you have to be cerfified in

the new J3D3Y3 P33L0T proffesion

lol

just kidding.

jedi only ships would be stupid if you stop to think about that, because

Vader was a jedi, and a good pilot too

He hunts jedi all across the galaxy

If he knew of any special ship better suited for jedis he would issue orders to "shoot at sight" or at least to summon himn to the sector to finish the jedi himself

But it would make sense to look at it as an old republic security forces ship:

this way imperials (that after all think they are the right heirs of the old republic, only improved) would not be againts it use

Rebels would claim that ship as a memento of the old Republic times thus they would feel they have the right to use it too

and Privateers could get those ships as old ships that were used by RSF-corsec or whatever law enforcers there were before the empire

so i think it makes sense if it is certified to all master pilots.

I kind of see your point about the bounty hunter thing. The BH would have the advantage as things stand. I really dont think changing the JTL mechanics is the right answer to fix this though.

And the main reason you dont see a lot of people in deep space is because there is no real reason to PvP atm. I wish there were.

But there are plenty of pilots that fly in deep space. I practically live there.

And I apologise about my sharp retort in my previous post. Seeing the words "change space pvp to be like the ground game" really presses my buttons.

Wookie homeworld, meh.. I would have rathered see Hoth.

New weapons/armour/etc... sure, why not.

Jedi Starfighter.... well, I figure you could be in the best/fastest/Uberest fighter in the galaxy I will still scatter your ashes to the four winds in my intercepter so sure, give it to Jedi only who cares. If they need training wheels and a huge advantage (assuming they get special Jedi Space Powers of course) then I see give them their handicap, I'll still blast them.

Personally, if it's Jedi only I think as soon as they launch they should be PvP enabled no matter where they are, otherwise make it just like the Firespray. Difficult to get the schematic, extremely expensive to craft (rare resources), and make it in balance with all the other ships as we have now.

Hoth???

A barren iceworld with few to no creatures??? why would you want to see that.

Kashyyyk has dense forests and all manner of horrific beasts to kill. The cities had better be in the trees though, or I will be dissapointed.

granted there are probably better worlds to add than Kashyyyk, but maybe they are paving the way to including more homeworlds like Dosh, Mon Calamari or Ryl

So don't go go in space, and you can keep your advantage for the ground. If you are a bh and you mark is online and the droid says he is in space wouldn't you want to play your content out.

When i spoke about the jedi designed to fight multiple opponents i was referring mostly to PvP

atm jedi vs bh can be 1 vs many but it can be considered balanced due to the generalPvP superiority of the jedi against a template that use BH (even if the thing is more complex if we take in account food, dot weapons and so on)

in space a jedi have not such superiority (and i'm happy with that ), so he will be not able to handle 1 vs many scenario.

as said to balance that you should be give to the jedi some uber ship or power with the cons i said in the other posts....

i also understand the problem of the jedi in space...

I agree that is a sort of cutting the BH content, but a BH will still be able to attack the jedi when he will land, otherwise if the jedi will be very vulnerable in space here that he will be totally cut from that content.

want also to addthat i think that if the jedi have a TEF with a BH the BH should be able to attack him even if he flee in space

in every case i think that the decay of space components should be suspended both for BHs and Jedis if they "fight" due to a bounty.

i'm really to hear that smugglers can be hunted by NPC BHs for sure it will spice a bit the life
