If they drive hummers still, those people are doomed. Those gas guzzlers means the fleet will never make it to earth. They have no Lorren Green. Now they just have committiees with corrupt folks trying to control things.

The new BSG just isn't my cup of tea. I was really hoping it was going to be more like the old showSpace: Above & Beyond. i.e. a little more combat oriented with maybe anextra dashof the post-apocalyptic flare.

As to which is better? I really enjoyed watching the old BSG as a kid. Thought it was the greatest thing ever. ...but as an adult I've caught some of those old episodes. There are a few good ones, but for the most part I was wondering what I saw back then. I guess it's easier to write a show for a young open mind rather than a cynical ol frak'r like I am now.

Remember that back then all this sci-fi special effects stuff didn't even exist the way it does now, so what looks hokey to us today wasn't hokey back then. It's the same reason why your Commodore 64 is no longer anything but a fond memory today.

I think my major point is that the new BSG is way too dark and feels more like a prime-time soap opera with a litte bit of sci-fi in the background. There's enough nasty stuff going on in the world today that I really don't consider seeing more of the same as entertainment.

Yes, some sense of doom should be present since 12 worlds just got wiped out, but I think they're seriously overdoing it. Also, where the hell are the Cylons? If Baltar's mental fuxxor is constantly present, how come the Cylons are having trouble finding the fleet? How come there's not a multi-episode running battle going on before they finally get far enough away from the entire freakin' Cylon fleet to get a breather?

Instead, they seem to find lots of time to fight amongst each other, almost from the very beginning. There are lots of examples in our own history of entire groups of people displaced by other groups of people without complete disintegration.

Quite the contrary, tribes, ethnic groups, etc., withveryfew exceptions, appear to pull together much more closely when faced with a common and deadly enemy.

The fact that BSG has degenerated into a show about internal conflict, atrocities, backstabbing, intrigue, etc., suggests that the people themselves are already leaning toward being bad by nature and the current situation is just an available conduit to express those natures.

And, if that's the case, I certainly don't want to witness it for the same reason that I don't watch Jerry Springer. Plenty of nastiness on the news already. I don't consider more of the same as entertainment.

Of course, it appears I'm in the minority here.

Ok there is nothing i hate more than people who rip on stuff when they dont even know what they're talking about. First off iff you even watched the show youd know that the ship is called Serenity in both the movie and the show, the ship it self is a FireFly class vessel. Second it was a very good show and the moviepicked up just about right where the show ends, and does it ina way that lets people who have never even seen the show get it and enjoy it.

You can have your opinions about what ever the hell you like, but if your going to bash something at least get your facts strait.
