I agree. Since you have four guns, you really don't need them to be 3K and 4K guns. After a short while last night, my friends asked me, "Sheesh, how strong are those guns?". When I told them just 2700 max, they were amazed. They had several that were 3k+ and were not faring as well with the fighters. But I had to remind them, I have 4 x 2.7k, which is over 10K max possible damage in a short amount of time. They had 2 x 3.5K which is just 7k max possible. I know there are several other factors that come in to play (refire rate, etc.) but 4 guns will still lay down more smack quicker than 2.
I still plan to tweak them, and see if I can get better ones, but not at the expense of more mass. I want a better shield gen, and some better armor. Also, my reactor is too heavy (51K). I need to get a good RE'd one. With some careful tuning, this will be one hell of a ship. I may also be able to back off my capacitor regen. With cap overload, it never even moves, even with a constant rate of fire.

Talk about a love/hate relationship.
I ran the Kessel Corvette with some friends the other night, and did horrible in my b-wing. I was very discouraged after that.
Last night, I decided it was probably the pilot and not the ship (well, not all the ship anyway). So, I took the b-wing back up and decided to get some more stick time. To say a fine touch is required would be a little bit of an overstatement. But sometimes, especially against Tier 5 fighters, too fine a touch means you never catch up. It is tough to find the balance here. I suppose that is just something that comes with experience.
I dueled a friend of mine in his heavy x-wing and was promptly blown away. But I learned a little about how to balance feathering the stick while also making extreme moves as necessary. The second battle went better, but it was just a tag match, not an actual duel. I guess I better bite the bullet and head to DS. I will need some more PvP battles to keep getting better.
I still love using the b-wing as support for helping friends with their missions and quest. It seems to work very well in this role. I can also take out a tier 4 decimator in just two high speed passes, and barely get a scratch on my shields. I am finally figuring out how to kill gunboats with it also. Lost my front armor to the first one I tried last night. But, managed to take out two more after that, with just shields, so that is improvement.
Most of my friends that have tried the b-wing hate it. No one seems to want to give it a chance. If it is not easy, and does not handle like a porsche, they don't seem interested. Oh, well. I plan to give it at least another week.
