And even then, you are hard to kill. Last night my TIE Interceptor tangled in Deep Space in a 3 on 2 with a Firespray and a TIE Advanced against two A-Wings. I took a hit to my front shields, lost 25% of my armor as well, then hit cap to shield, missile incoming, hit counter measures, something, not sure if it was the missile or another blaster volley took my backshield, 10 seconds until I could cap to shield, but fortunately the Firespray and Advancedkept the A-Wings too much on the defensive to let them get a shot at me. Later we chased an A-Wing with 6% chassis remaining all over Deep Space until we finally landed a hit. And after one fight another Firespray was crippled, but not dead - engine gone.

The "one shot kill by small fighters"is a myth.
