Point taken however I still fail to see any unbalance to the ships, OK so your advance is crap compared to the JSF, check the vendors again you may find one better also the JSF is a clone relic thus giving it a edge over the current fighter class in some regards also it was Jedi fighter so figure they would only fly around in the best they could get. Plus the engines play a good part in the final outcome of the ship flight performance it could be you need to sacrafice speed on your engines for a better Pitch and Yaw, also as a MSW I can say most of the ships I craft stink so far as Chasis hitpoints I put everything into Pitch, Yaw and Mass so in that it depends on where you got your ship from also.

Real target lock is needed
More Profs are needed
SOE and all the Nerf people need to realize that a true balance is an unbalance.

But you can't find an advanced better then the JSF or Bel. The chassis stats do not change. The best a Advanced can get is 65k... maybe 66k with awesome resources. A JSF/Bel will always have 90k mass.

Sorry to say, but your throwing out some unsound statements here.

In a way, I think the ships with a gigantic mass for their size, like the Bel and EA2 do their pilots a disservice.

If you've never had to do the hard math of squeezing the very last drop of performance out of a limited chassis, it's hard not to get sloppy about mounting your components. Building out two A-wings (one 100% crafted, one RE'd all the way)has taught me a ton about how to fit better and how to fly better.

Maybe they ought to have a mission in the Pilot tree that you have to fly solo (much like the last of Kenobi's missions on Mustafar), where you're given a small chassis, and a simulated bazaar of randomly generated NOTRADE components to pick and choose through, and you have to build your ship and take it on your mission and pass. All alone, except for helpful and/or snide commentary from your trainer. (/ponder)

So the JSF minus that 24k mass gun, makes a whole setup with one gun, perfectly for the A-wing. So the way i see it, if you can load out a JSF (or Bel), you can perfectly load out an A-wing, just by leaving out one gun (and maybe do a little bit of tweaking)

Wow... You'd spend 24k of mass for a gun in a JSF??

well... yeah

I got the mass left, so why not put a REed lvl 8 reward blaster in it

If that's what you'd like to do, go ahead...

For something with that kind of maneuver, I'd go with a big'ol engine, put on a shield that's either 1900 F/R, and put on a couple of six guns or fast sevens.

There's nothing wrong with building an A-wing, then pulling it out, dropping it in a Bel and addin an eight gun, but it makes you a little lopsided on the damage output and lighter than you could be on protection and maneuver -- not playing to the best strengths of your chassis.

(IMHO of course)

But that's what makes space so great Malcolm.... There is no Right or Wrong way to outfit a ship. There are different flying styles, look styles.. I'm going to be a crazy SOB on starsider, and even bloodfin and set up a Interceptor with a lvl 4 engine and a lvl 8 weapon. Why would I do that? A challenge and because I can. May not work all that great, but i'm going to have fun doing it.

LOL!

Well, if I see you i'm running the other way. Besides, i know you only EP to avoid PvP. Its not like your out looking for PvP and then using it so you can win at all costs.. bit of a difference. But i'm still going to fly the other way. I'll send in my wingman to test out your defenses... yeah, that's what i'll do.

Hehe. Just let your wingmate know to ignore that wave of energy. Its harmless Well, MOSTLY harmless. Outside of 300m. Although he won't know till I trigger it....and it IS instantaneous. Oh, nevermind, I'm gonna go farm some more in a non-overt mode

Actually, I put some serious thought into just using EP2 with a 3700 charge at CO4. Still have defenses and do the same job, roughly.

BUT, I figured that was really the same as EP3 as far as damage so I'm back to square 1

When I was flying the JSF regularly, I supplanted my TIE/A kit directly into it. The extra mass I used to fit armour. Doing that, it was painfully clear to see that with identical gear, the JSF could easily out-maneuver my TIE/A. It wasn't too long after that, that I redeeded it and placed it on a shelf.
