Thread: Game destroying bug. Do not drop faction with 6 ships in your datapad.

Because I can remove items from the bank, my houses, my inventory, etc, and move them around freely wheneverI choose,if im certified for them or not. I could also equip, and use a sword, with no brawler skills at all for example. If i do happen to be wearing some faction armor, and drop faction, it is conviently removed for me, and placed in my inventory with no loss at all. My current skills have nothing to do with picking up, trading, moving, selling, destroying any other items, with apparently the exception of ships. Seems to be a shortsight by the developers to me.

On a side note, during my brief day run as an Imperial,I wore my Alliance Medal of Honor the entire time. Even gave Vader a hug wearing it. Both Vaders.... Was that an exploit?

By your own somewhat scetchy version of what is ok to do and what is not ok, or what is not possible to do... It would clearly be an exploit, or just entirely not possible to remove any items i have in my Z-95. So it looks like ill just have to make do with the current equipment it has in it.

Come on Zandaar... Read the whole thread. I explained it all before in other posts in this same thread.

The shipsI listed where you quoted me were purely for example. Those were not the shipsI have in my datapad, however i do have 6 ships. It was merely a worst caseexample to explain what COULD happen. I stated this several times in the thread.

I fixed my problem by getting a ride from a friend to kashyyyk. I completed the quest i wanted to do there in half an hour or so, then gave the light TIEdeedI had purchased from the bazar (and couldnt generate) to anew player in need of a ship. At that point I got a ride back to the real planets with starports.

At that point, I could travel using the starports and tickets (Remember those?), to anywhere I wanted, with the exception of Kashyyyk. This gave me access to any novice pilot trainer I wanted. I then trained my novice pilot skill, and jumped in my Z-95.

I did and this is the first time youve even remotely offered any kind of concise and accurate diction of your problem. I still dont see how you cleared up having 6 ships you werent certed for however unless you somehow had accrued enough points to train 1 0 0 0 to get into that z95 (which i dont think you can do until you finish all the starter missions, which you cant do if you are in a passenger ship i thought) and thus never actually generated the starter ship you are given upon the start of every squadron. So in reality, you didnt fix anything at all, you simply found a way around the problem. Yes, quite clever.

Novice neutral and rebel pilots are both certed for the Z-95... You do not have to use the free one you are given when training novice pilot (The trainers wont even give you one if your datapad has 6 ships). Any z-95 will do, or lightduty tie for Imperials. Heavy versions of these ships are also certed at novice pilot.

Andyou are correct, there is no way around the problem if you dont happen to have a starter type ship in your datapad as one of the 6. Thats the whole reason I started the thread.

Please explain what im mistyped...?

Check the skill trees and you will see the cert there.

Are you refering to me using the word "Novice" instead of "Trainee"?

Or are you just trolling?

No cert for a Z95 in my Freelance Pilot tree, on any of my characters or accounts.

PerhapsI was wrong about it being in the neutral tree. It is in the alliance tree for certain. Your comment may have been better recieved if you have just explaind yourself, rather than calling names though.

So which one do i destroy?

The arc-170?

The y-8?

The heavy x-wing?

The regular x-wing with all my quest rewards and 6 months of RE-ed near perfect parts?

The Jedi fighter?

The Crimson tie?

I know your looking for a work around, but this needs to be fixed. SOE should allow people to keep what they worked for. They just need to allow you to reeded a ship and auto remove the parts. A nice "Unload All" button in the management window would be a fix, but it will never happen...

Currently you cannot even bring up the management scrren in a ship you arent certed for. So unless i want to permamnetly delete a ship that cannot be replaced, i never get to fly again.

Ohh, im sure after 3or 4 tickets i get to talk to a CSR with an IQ over 90 or so, but double xp will be gone by then. And im quite sure the one with the 92 IQ would misunderstand my requests, and destroy all my ships for me while he isattempting to be "Helpfull"...

Erm, where in there do you suggest that those six ships are just an example? And why list six ships that are just an example and have nothing to do with your problem then? I did wonder why you had cross-certed ships. So you deleted a non-critical ship? Or followed our tried-and-true (and recommended) fix of asking a CSR for help? And why the concern over the Actis if you're Tier 1 bound? Why say we call you names when you've already called us all infants? Why insult someone for not knowing the Z-95 is certed for freelance, when it isn't? So many questions, makes one's head spin!

Hard to keep up with changes you're making, you've got a lot of edited posts. No offense mate, but you are definately one odd duck... We were just trying to keep up with your posts and point you in the right direction. Although buried in your crazyness you did have a nice idea for a feature to be implemented.

You know, this has gone on for TOO LONG! Destroy a ship and move on SHESH!It ain't the end of the world. Like I said before, you can bump this thread for years to come, it aint gonna get fixed, need for us to list the "known" bugs that create more of a problem than this? Bugs that have been in the game since JTL launched, guess what? Yep, they are still in the game. Fill out a /bug ingame if it makes you feel better.

Again, more coments from people who didnt real the whole thread...

The thread is meant to prevent people from droping faction with a datapad full of 6 ships. Im not sure why you feel warning others about this is a bad thing. Your being very selfish. If you just trying to have the last word, or win an argument your having with the text showing on your screen, then great, you won.

Not everyone who drops faction thinks about his ships before hand. In some cases they get the first clue when they can no longer travel using jtl. If this thread prevents a few people from doing it, then it has serverd its purpose. Even if you think you are "above" making a mistake like this, im sure you have done similar things in the past. We all have.

Now, just to clarify:

THE PROBLEM I WAS HAVING HAD A WORKAROUND THAT WILL NOT HELP MOST PEOPLE.

THE SHIPS I LISTED WERE EXAMPLES ONLY.

PLEASE REFER TO THE THREAD AS A WHOLE BEFORE ASKING A QUESTION ABOUT WHY OR WHAT I DID.

Thankyou.

To ignore most of this thread, the idea about allowing you to unload and redeed ships even when you're not certed for them would actually prevent some nasty situations.
