  • They're adding two turrets to the Y-8, good a much needed fix.

  • They're "tweaking" POB only components (newly crafted only) - again, good fix, thanks.

  • You will now be able to move furniture "up" in the Y-8. Thanks, been waiting on that.

Good stuff, here... /throwsBone

What about the other bugs since JTL Luanch/Beta, ROTW Laubh/Beta... why exactly is JTL the last in line? We're like the Smugglers/Squadleaders of space.

i have a scenario that i go over in my head that for me explains the IGI.

imagine for a moment that you are the programmer for the ROTW expansion ships. imagine you don't have experience in this position yet you are assured the guy who does will help you out. you get assigned the IGI, JSF and B22. now, you are about to ask the only programmer who understands how the hitbox code works when suddenly you get an email. hey, look, it's the lucasarts marketing guy. he tells you that he wants the JSF/B22 to be the "best" ship in the game, one that everyone will want to fly, as part of the marketing for EPIII. even this lowly new dev understands this is a bad idea, but he knows if he mentions the actual mechanics of the game to this lucasarts suit, he will probably get a curt response and a note to his supervisor asking him to get with the program.

so he asks the lead designer how to do the hitbox code, then cut and pastes the same thing into the B22 with a grimace, realizing it's going to make a few things in the game fairly stupid. suddenly, he gets an idea. "hey, the IGI is a ROTW ship too, maybe i can balance out this injustice by giving it the same hitbox? if the lucasarts guy finds out and yells at me, i can just say i thought he meant all the ROTW light fighters, and not just the JSF/B22! that way at least a touch of continuity is maintained"

so he cut and pastes the JSF/B22 hitbox into the red tie model, of course, the model is far too big, and the end result is also a misplaced hitbox.

the alternative interpretation is that in the monday meeting to discuss game issues concequences are rarely brought up, and certainly never in the context of JTL, OR they are 1000 steps ahead of us players andhave a grand plandespite admittedly not playing the game much if at all.

so yeah, i entertain myself with the sneakyman dev fantasy, cause the alternative is depressing.

I think the alternative is more likely, though. Here's how I'm guessing it went... The devs are rushing to get ROTW on the store shelves. They quickly put the new ROTW ships in. The content creation tools by default give all new ships the same settings as the starter ships. The dev doing thisprobably puts in the JSF first, cause its the most recognizable ship from EPIII, however he doesn't have a clue on what its chassis stats should be, so he just leaves them at default and bumps the mass up to something that seems to be about average for ships. He then copies and pastes all this several times in order to make the Belb22, ARC-170, Heavy Z95, Heavy TIE, Heavy Scyk, RGI, Vaksai, and Heavy X-wing. He then rushes to make a few changes here and there, since he knows he can't leave all those ships with identical stats. In some cases he misses things, such as changing the RGI hitbox from the copy and pasted JSF, and in others he does things that don't really make sense, such as the massive mass increase on the Vaksai despite it still only being aone gun fighter. He then tests things out to make sure each ship can at least fly and that nothing looks goofey, (though he apparently forgot to test how guns look in the ARC-170). After that he stops working on the new ships, tellshis boss that they're good enough for release, and then he rushes off to work on something else that needs to be done by the preset deadline.

Oh by the way it looks like the hit box for the Vaskasi is off too but it's big enough that no one notices that it's also slighty above center.

EH?!

I thoguht i saw a blue shield flash once or twice, but figured it was just a glancing shot.

the JSF is far worse then the vaskai, i can safetly say that. Just as the RGI is worse then the JSF

EDIT:

BTW, you got a screenshot of one in group? Kinda curious.
