Thread: So is the JSF unbalanced, or is it just me?
Actually the heavy Z, out performes the heavy X.....with the same engine, ya don't get the speed loss since the wings don't 'x'.

i would love to see the ETA actis with 60-65 k mass. Id definitely drop my a wing for it then.
It'd still be overpowered.
Just look at that bleedin 600/600/300 YPR! Nothing with over 12k mass comes close
Heavy starters have the same maneuvering stats as the basic starters. I outperform my A-Wing with the same engine mounted in the Heavy Z-95.

TO BAD IT IS SAPPOSE TO BE AN IMP SHIP.
This seems like a reasonably well qualified source of information. The Eta-2 Actis interceptor is a KSE product, originally used by the Galactic Republic as a fighter complement for Venator-class Star Destroyers. So, what does it mean that it's sappose to be an imp ship? Do you get to that conclusion by dint of the fact that the republic became the empire and so took de facto control of all republic hardware? I could buy that, I suppose, but it's a very simplistic point of view. Lord of War is a real education about what happens to military hardware in a time of political upheaval. I think it's entirely realistic that some of those ships would have slipped through the fingers of the iron fist.
Or are you just leaning on the fact that one has to be imperial on the ground to acquire the ships in terms of pure game mechanics?

No, just the fact that vader gives the ship and you have to be an imp combatant to get the ship. The Empire did take control of the Republic ( Our loving Emperior is just using the New order to get rid of the coruppt senitors in the Republic. The Rebellion does not really represent the Repubic ( at lease not at this time ) they are just rebelling again the "lawfully " elected emperor.
Lets just say it is because you have to be an Imp combatant. LOL

I guess I should be very careful of my wording here. I love my JSF to death, but since I got it, my skills seem to be twice what they were. There are missions I could have never taken before, that I can fly now, and not blink. Is it just experience, or is the ship that good? I don't know. I mean, I am flying Kessel against tier 5's and solo them like they were level one's.

What you have found is that in the Kessel and Deep space the JSF's smaller hit box will let you get in a swarm of lasers and with a little dodging... come out alive. The turning and the 2 guns and the weight are nice but the smaller hit box is what saves your butt when you are out numbered 20 to 1.
LOL as a IMP.
the weight only helps the IMPs because the rebs and of course the freelancers already have ships way better in the weight division.
As for turning , that is something fixed but the "VETS" and there pre-nerf engines. You could just get a Quantum Ion Drive like everyone. Ya, that is the luck of the draw . but if you can lower the weight and power draw by RE. then cool. what parts will you use? only contemporary parts, right?
Why can someone use a 400 lb droid interface with 13 sec and re engineered gear to lower the weight of their componts and be L33T but if you get a JSF and use it .... you are a lame punk a$$ ? REed gear is for those who fly a LOT, do you think loot should be removed from the ground game.
Loot is good and so is REed gear. So what does that have to do with pre-nerf loot REed? You still get way better stuff when it is added into the mix. No matter how much you fly now. so it is ok to use old nerf stuff but not use new stuff that is not nerfed ( yet)?
Everyone can get a JSF , not everyone can get pre-nerf ship parts. You dont need them, and the only prenerfs that awre worth using are DIs, WOW you save 2000 mass! 2000 mass? Shoot, in my world my 13.9 sec is ~4k mass , which in an IMP ship IS alot. DI is just one obvious example. shaving 1k here and 1k there is alot, But you being the 'all that pilot' would know that. Unless I see you in a hvy x-wing.
Judge not ... Least you too be Judged !

Got to love people who moan about "pre-nerfs" and "uber leet REs" when they dont actually have a clue what they are talking about!
I am sure you do not ever use pre-nerf stuff ( RE's what you are suppose to use) not even in your RE's parts becuase you are better then that or the stuff is not worth it, Right?
Uh, what's wrong with using RE'd parts again?
The only two pre-nerf things people really use are pre-nerf L6 engines, and pre-nerf L1 DI's. The engines do not make your ship more agile. All they do is give it a little more top speed. A decent L8 engine RE will outclass a pre-nerf L6 in PvP easily, and a good contemporary L6 RE will give you the same performance in a dogfight as a prenerf.
DI's don't give any real advantage in PvP either. All they really do is decrease the wait time before you can get into the action. Once you're in a PvP engagement, the speed of your DI simply doesn't matter.
