some tips for the imp inquisition missions. I did them all twicewith a equivalent level guildy
- Disable if you've got too much target
- When you do not have explicitely to destroy ( delivery the fake list for exemple ) engage the first wave, hyper in another point of dath, engage the next wave, hyper again, and try to go to the rendez vous point, if new waves hyper again. we did this part without killing any enemy
- For destroy Price of liberty,do not worry about other fighters, use E-Weapon on weapons first ( there are 2, so one for each if you are 2
, when down it's a piece of cake. this one is tough, so if you're grouped, use your wingman as meat shied ( they can die, you can't )

For all you people having trouble with Storm Squadron's second mission here's a couple of hints. If you don't want to ask peeps to invest all the time it takes solo the capture, escort and transmit signal part of the mission but don't trigger the second solo part. Call your friend then. That way all you have left is the escort and the battle between Nym and Hutt forces.
If you want to solo the battle at the end just don't jump in guns blazing. Take a couple of minutes to survey the situation..you have alot of time. There's always going to be a couple of Nym ships on the outskirts of the battle. Take out the Nym ships that are farthest from the center of the battle. Once you've destroyed a couple of ships you can start working your way in. The closest ship is not always the best target if he is playing with the Hutts. Get the one that is shooting at you. Above all make sure of your target and know when to check fire.

This is the mission I'm currently on Tier 3 mission 3 and got to the last step and died last night. My question is on step 3 or 4 I think it is where you meet with the Lambda shuttle and it initially denies your request to dock is this a timed thing or do you have to kill off all of the waves until you can Dock with the shuttle? Last night my wingman and myself just killed off wave after wave until they finally stopped coming and it let me dock with it.
Are you saying that you would just engage a wave and then hyperjump and when you got back to the shuttle it would make the next wave pop and you did this over and over until they stopped coming?

I soloed the first storm squad mission in tier 3, I am 3222 now and only tried the 2nd mission 2 times, the first gunboat really tears me up fast, I am going to wait for a couple RL friends to level up to where I am and then we can give it a shot, can a neutral pilot group with me to help with these?
I think the disableing the ships sounds like a great idea, will definitly be trying that out, I dont mind dieing and trying again, as frustrated as I was at the amount of time it took me to complete the first mission in tier 3, the satisfaction of completeing it was that much better.
My trick to completeing the first mission was to warp out of there as soon as the shuttle was safe, and I made repairs a couple times after I got the mission successful I would run back to the starport repair and continue on, I save my missles for the tier 4's I would encounter, but right near the end of the cargo shuttle mission and they tell you to make the delivery, hyperspace the heck out of there, I died 2-3 times trying to fight them before I decided I should just get the heck out of dodge.
LOL, I also made it this far 3222 without using an imp computer and the special computer commands, now that I have figured out how to use these features I should improve, I am also going to try a tie bomber out, I am not to impressed with the interceptor so far.

Why would you think so (or what exactly mission do you think makes it impossible to solo it)?

Anybody have an opinion on maybe going 3232 rather than 3322 when you finish the second Imperial Tier 3 mission? So you get Bomber Strike? I saw one or two people briefly mention that tier 3 is easy once you start using Bomber Strike, so I'm wondering just how effective it is.

The first 2 for sure.
The problem lies in the length of the missions and the size of space. With the ships wandering about you always pick up stray level 4 and level 5 enemies - usually during a critical point. It is then game over. The final escort position is in the middle of a tier 4A-wing spawn (ever fight 6 of them? while you mission enemies also spawn??) and it is also within 1-2km of a tier 5 spawn. I have also had tier 4 B-Wings appear at that same point.
I've flown with 2 wingmen and we have managed to get the first missiondone (first time). The second mission nastyat the end- with the rebel gunboat and the useless Tie interceptors. We can get to that point - even with the swams of level 4 fighters and the odd level 5, but we've failed twice so far to finish the gunboat.
I think the main problem is that in comparison to other tier 3 missions these are far harder to complete.
I like grouping a lot - but its a bit much that some tier 3 imperial missions require a group to complete.

I think if you go with the Interceptor I would go 3232 first.....I went 3322 and I think this is a mistake since the mass on my interceptor is maxed and I still haven't upgraded the important components.
Even with my lower level engine and blaster the third mission isn't that difficult until I get to the big ship at which point I think I'd rather have Bomber Strike.
The thing I've found with the Interceptor is the handling is so good that you can get by with a decent engine, shield and blaster that are lower level.
The last time I tried the 3rd tier three mission I made it to the final point with taking no damage at all but had a serious brainfart on the last part and didn't take out the escorts first and paid for it. My engine is only 77.9 but I think with the interceptor it's good enough and it's a lvl 4 engine. Honestly I don't think I've benefitedmuch from the third tier component upgrade.
If you go with the bomber then it's a different story and I'd go with the component box first.

I wasted most of Saturday and Sunday getting past these missions. What a nightmare they are; I'm guessing whoever developed them forgot to put a "go back to trainer and get next mission" token after each of the mission scripts. Bottom line is: They are WORK! I was not having fun, and that's the whole reason I play games. These missions are bugged, period.
To summarize for those who think we're whining: you're fighting wave after wave of tier 3 & 4 fighters while flying a TIE/IN. That's to say: a tier "1.5" fighter with almost no mass. Thus, your pea-shooter gun requires roughly 12 direct-hits to destroy a tier3 ship, and about 20 to take out a tier4. Not to mention: one tier4 can decimate YOUR shields/armor with, oh, about 4 shots...
To add to the misery, there's the knowledge that no amount of XP will allow you to acquire a better ship/skill to make the going easier. Can't train all of that XP you've gained, nuh-uh.
Anyhow, I'm proud/embarassed to say that I soloed all 3rd-tier Storm Squadron missions and am now 4333 and hot to test out my new Advanced TIE. However, I wouldn't do these missions again for love or money.
The good news is: once you get 3322, you can acquire an Interceptor with better guns, making the last two boxes MUCH easier. (I'd choose the Equipment box before the Interceptor.)
You know what the bad news is.
The tips posted here are good so far. I'll add what I can from memory:
- Firstly, surrender and change to a different squadron until SOE fixes these missions. It's just not worth the effort.
- If the mission involves identifying, disabling, and docking with a larger ship, I found it worthwhile to ignore the protecting ships, rush-in quickly, disable it, begin docking, start a hyperspeed countdown, and then pray I'm not destroyed. After un-docking, hold off the fighters with what remains of your shields, and hopefully you'll get back to the station alive for repairs.
- Try to avoid all tier4 ships that have nothing to do with your mission. Spend the extra time flying completely around their area if you have to.
- When you're doing that seemingly endless turning-battle with A-Wings, don't stop turning to fire a couple of times at them when you're head-on. Instead, keep turning just as you were, and even slow down a little. With practice, he'll shoot right past you and you'll be on his tail. Or just switch to another target.
- When approaching a waypoint with four+ tier4 fighters, stop about 1100m from it. Target-nearest and start moving in slowly. At ~800m, one (hopefully) will see you and break-off to attack. Turn around and run the other way; drawing them further from the group until you've enough room for a good turning battle. That's right: a classic MMORPG "pull".
- I rank the skillbox missions in order of difficulty as: 2nd (hardest), 1st, 3rd, 4th (easiest).
- Get the best/lightest equipment you can. Guns and shields are most important. If you can get a fast enough engine you can forgo the booster. Learn about droid-commands and use "engine overload". Reduce armor if it means a better shield, as once those tier4 lasers get thru you'll be cut to ribbons anyhow. Missiles and countermeasures are useless here.
I hope you found this information valuable.
Wipe them out; all of them!

I'm just curious how in the hell a 3222 pilot is supposed to do these tier 3 missions. On my way to the second wp
six tier 4 bwings spawned right in front of me, all of them firing missles. I dont mind a challenge but this is
kinda ridiculious. Even with disabling engines it takes a while for tie/int to disable tier 4 ships. Oh and at my first wp i had to fight through 2 spawns of tier 4 A's and X's just so i could dock with my target. I used disable engines to good effect there. The devs must have had brain cramps when setting up these storm squadron missions. I dont know how the other squadrons are but these missions arent soloable simply because of the massive enemy spawns at or around the mission waypoints.
Anyway, just wanted to throw in my 2 cents worth.

Yes I had just the same problems but that does not that can NOT be soloed. I did try many times but finally I broke through. Actually I soloed all missions until 3433 where I had to fight with 2 Nova couriers and tons of A-Wings, X-Wings and Y-Wings which did not hesitate throw missiles at me and my mass didnt allow me to install countermeasures.

i've been stuck at storm sq 2/2/2/2 for a week and a half.
can't get a group good enough or big enough to help me.
pretty much given up, now using my tie/ln as an interplanetary runabout.
