Thread: Storm Squadron ARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
you said "Imperial Guard Interceptor". I assumed you were talking about the Royal Guard Interceptor which IS Tier4. The normal Tie Interceptor is Tier3. I have not mastered shipwright yet but I believe the chassis said "Tie Fighter (Heavy Variant)".

DO NOT quit Storm Squardon, it is tough, it has long escorts through incredibly hostile territory, but the best imperial pilots I have faced on any server I have played on were all SS vets. If you absolutley cannot solo a mission after 3 tries and you are pulling your hair out, GET A WINGMAN. I do not know what server you are on, but if it is Starsider, senda tell to Hissk,I will help you ifI amon. The wingman will at the very least keep the non mission aggro off of you. I do not mind a long escort mission if it means we will have another master imperial pilot. If not Starsider, then I am sure you can find someone to help, even if you maybe have to pay that person some credits, there are helpful pilots on every server.

To tell you the truth, I just had a pretty majoy knee surgery and I've been a lil' grouchy lol. I had my ACL reconstructed in my left knee and I've been taking the pain pills since the last surgery I had 4 weeks before this one so they don't work hardly at all. They drill holes in your femur and tibia, then take a graft off your patella tendon (from your kneecap to your shinbone), braid it for strengthand mount it to the holes with bone plugs and titanium screws. The pain is relentless and I can only sleep about 3-4 hours a night adding to the grouchiness. All I wanted to do was sit around and fly some missions...and things weren't going so well as you can see. So I apologize for the out of control title....but people must kinda like it seeing they've been posting under it for days now!

OK as someone who really struggled through TIER 3 (but is actually finding TIER 4 really easy strangley enough) I would say the best strategy tips are the simplest ones.
1. If you have more than 4 enemy ships to deal with then yes start disabling them. Use [ to target the engine and leave them alone when they are dead in the water. I can't say for sure that this definitely slows down the spawn - its seems to.
2. Get a droid and load it with a chip which has Weapons Overload 3 programmed onto it. You can use the other commands as well but this is the most useful one for me. As soon as you launch into space run this program - evrey time you go up there.
3. When you get to the NOVAs be prepared to straff them. Target the capacitor/weapon you want to take out using the [ key again FROM 2k out and approach at high speed, ignoring the escort and hit your key to launch BOMBER STRIKE 1. Fire at the NOVA before your target recticle comes up and keep flying straight and firing until you are on top of the NOVA then hit BOOST and keep going until you are about 1k away. DISABLE any of the escort that have followed you, turn around and do exactly the same, going 1k past until the ship is disabled (make sure weapons are zero) if you need to dock or you have blown it up (if you need to).
4. Get a chaff launcher and load it. I dont use missles but the chaff counter measures have saved my skin a couple of times.
Oh and use the Tie heavy variant if you can find it. It can carry 97k mass is maneuverable enoughand was great for me.
I've soloed all of SS so far apart from the first TIER 3 mission and I reckon I could do that on my ownnow. Hindsight is a great thing
Good luck.

I finished the first t3 mission solo. I couldn't find a heavy tie so I twinked my TIE/IN the best I could and didn't have a problem this time. As for the "Other" spawns, I would fly right through them, stay clear of my waypoint untill they dropped then come back to the wpt. It realy wasn't all that hard even though solo I had no break in the combat except flying from my finished mission to the next one in the string. It seems every time I would get to two enemys remaining another 4 or 5 would pop and keep things interesting.
After completing this mission I was able to train (now 2322). The new weopons make a huge difference in fights. I owe my success so far to one thing, Capacitor to shield shunt...... If you don't have it I would highly recomend this chip. Becasue my cap. recharges faster then my weopon uses energy running the cap down isn't an issue. I did the missions with No front armor and only using CSS as a command......
Thanks for the help with this long missions.
