Thread: Epulse Hard Stat Rundown

Sorry, i used to Enjoy Pilot, now i just feel its a grind for badges not something i do for fun.
We have 2 rebs On Chimaera who just camp by the load in Spot for DS or hide by the superstructure of the ISD and Grief folk, not fun, i tend not to go to DS but tonight (as i jst got SS solo) i thought id take the Tie Advanced in, well 5 loads and 2 Zergings later id got pissed off.
really not a personal attack just a Note to say 2V1 aint honorable, niether is Epulse 3, but if you must gank, then take what you get.
Now im going to bed, work at 10 and its 3 am.
Finally a reasonable comment. I must add though, I don't need to gank. That situation just happened ok? Yeh it sucks if peopleloadkill on your server (it used to be a regular occrence on Bria for a while but I transferred to Starsider), but please before making an unfounded attack on someone else, try and emphasize a little bit? Just because I had me and a friend vs one guy -once- time doesn't mean to say I do it all the time. In fact, it's a rareity that I do get a wingman.
I am that "Spoty" now hear my side of the story. I did not even know this chap wrote this until I stumbled upon this.
I usually hunt duty missions and then go to DS to repair my overloads and then just hyper out. I always do a /who to see if there are any people that I can fight. On that day /who revealed no one. I did a few laps around the ISD, went towards the reb station and still no rebs on /who. Sure enough I get a beep! of contact sisce I also cylce "x" regularly.
Two pilots Leahp is closest, I will engage him especially since last fight I wounded him and heran away, his engine is much faster than mine. In fact most people in DS are faster than me.Hmm, he slows down and lets his "wingman" get to me first. More like bait so he can get a good shot at me. I kill his wingman with blasters, I try to target Leaph, but sure enough he took advantage of my fight with his "wingman." Spoty is in trouble and hits Ep3. I survive despite 2 to 1 odds (typical rebel odds on starsider is 3-1 rebs vs. Imps, but thats another story.)
I never sent a gloat tell to him. I don't even send tells to reb pilots unless they send a /tell to me first and sometimes not even then, I cannot be bothered. I am juggling my pilot career with my goal of becomming a Jedi.
Today I went to DS again. Saw one rebel pilot on /who. Searched for him, I found him and killed him. Leaph shows up just as that task was done. He was not on /who. He tries to get any little sneaky advantage he can get. So what did I do? LOL, I EP3'ed him.
I have been EP3ed and blown up in DS many times so don't think I am some hotshot pilot bragging here which I am not. One day I took my super armored and ultra powerful shield thing Firespray into DS to see what it could do and some chap EP3ed me, was quite funny as I was trying to get a lock with 2 linked spacebombs on him, but never quite got that far, LOL.
One thing I have noticed isthat many of the pilots I have met in DS think they are God's gift to the pilot profession.
Spoty
PS; I did not resort to cheap tactics (I did what I had to do to survive a combined attack by 2 fast fighters) nor did I gloat.

Today I met my first 'complete jackass oponent' in DS on Starsider. Some guy called Spoty or somthing like that e-pulsed me and a wingman while we were behind him hitting him. It wouldn't have been so annoying if he hadnt have claimed to have 'shot holes' in us(which is hilarious since he wasn't even facing us plusmy wingy and I respawned at dant station together)and had have accepted my challenge of a 1v1 duel saying somthing retarded like I hadn't earned a duel with him. I don't mind losing, but e-pulsers are scum. They -really- are. I know this is a flame but I don't care. I will name and shame e-pulsers so people can avoid them and one day they might get the message.
I respect -pilots-. I don't respect idiots. I might be slightly retarded posting this but the long and short of it is, e-pulse needs to be removed for pvp, why? Because it removes any point of flying out of this great game whatsoever and reduces it to the ground game of simply pushing buttons willynilly for combat. The sad thing is that e-pulsers tend to always give the same excuse of "no you're making excuses, I hit you". Well here is breaking news...if a starship isnt -facing- the opponent and thus baring it's guns, then you can't have made a hit. Also, then going on to reject a duel vs only one of the pilots they supposedly 'pwned' before hand is just pathetic if you..the blatant e-pulser is so sure of your own pilotign skills.
Now I know I should probably just let it go but I can'thelp feeling a little wracked off since I've always played this game 100% fairly, no exploits, no 'easy win' buttons and my attitude overall is to improve the games balance. I shoot people down with an A-wing which I know I can fly rather well. When I get shot down by other people's blasters I know it is because they just outflew me.
JSF I can handle..they provide challenging duels.
RG TIES...meh, needs sorting due to popular oppinion but at least it can't epulse you (well unless you do what server transferees technically could do)
Loadkilling..is unnacceptable and lame but...
E-Pulse ...NO.
There is no valid arguement for keeping E-pulse ingame as far as pvp goes. Freelancers can obtain JSF and GSFs easily (which this guy had too. Sad..e-pulsing while in a JSF vs. two A-wings) so it isnt like they're outclassed for pvp ships short of 'morally' choosing not to fly a relic.
If you're going to shoot someone down or enter into pvp. -Shoot- them down and -fly- rather than resorting to cheap tactics and gloating about them.

As for gloating, yeh you did kind of say 'I can shoot holes in Rebel no matter the odds' so yep, thats a gloat sorry.
Now in future...please do not e-pulse me. It isn't fun. If you want pvp, do it properly. If not..just stay away. In addition, that time I had my capacitor blown out, Du'Long hit me and I was the last rebel standing after a small furball. Hyping away was quicker than flying without a blaster I couldn't use due toa disabled capacitor.
So yeh, ok I got the wrong end of the stick and should have considered the situation from your perspective a bit more, but my view won't change. E-pulse is wrong.

Due to simple time constraints and other activities I wanted to get done, I haven't been able to get the testing done as I wanted.
That being said, when Pub 24 comes out I will be using the new POB equipment to do a further, in depth testing with various energy levels against TRUE POB components.
Now, feel free to go back to what has become rants flames and such. I will simply start a new post after Pub 24 and leave this to all of you with the arguments
I apologise. It seemed the best place to post what I posted at the time because it was relevant to e-pulse. Yeh, I got annoyed but when I've been playing the game as fairly as you possibly can do since the day I started and I get accused of being unfair, a loadkiller and general...well you know, then it kind of really -really- got to me. I know I'm bordering on the edge of sounding self righteous and what I consider to be 'fair' isn't the be all and end all, but it cannot be justifiedin anyway that I am an unfair player outto 'pwn' everything by any means possible. As I said, if I was evil and wanted to do that, I'd camp the Imp spawn point in DS in a JSF with mk III protons and all my other decent kit crammed into it. But wait..My JSF isn't even unpacked from it's deed and judging from past posts and my general ingame attitude, I think its blatantly obvious that that is the last thing I'd want to do.
I don't have a problem with people flying JSF against me and I will even engage an RG TIE regardless of it's hitbox. I'll fly my slightly under-par but still rather good ship in order to remain competitive and I will promote fun. Having my virtues stuffed in my face and generally given the one fingered salute was just insulting.
I don't mind if anyone disagrees with me about e-pulse and I even made a suggestion on how they could keep it in the game if that is what some pilots feel they need to beat people, but as it stands in pvp it is unbeatable. Simply flying out of range doesn't work because you get no prior warning to when the opponent is going to use it and to score a shot, unless they're flying away from you and you're chasing you -will- slip into it's effective range at some point and they only have to be waiting for you to do that then *Boom*. I know many good pilots here who feel the same way. Personally, I like Harotak's ideas for it such as it messing up targetting systems for a whilelike removing the lead indicator, but the outright destruction of a player starfighter which takes absolutely no skill to employ isn't good enough in my oppinion.
To back up my oppinion, I'd even happily go Freelance and prove how easy it is to use by frappsing it and e-pulsing everyone I see, however that might be frowned upon so unless directly authorised to do so, I wouldn't. In summary, as it stands..e-pulse is little more than a kick in the nuts to anyone who is trying to fly properly..and by flying properly, I mean manouvering with your opponent so that either one of them (or both in some circumstances) can line up that shot whether it be by missiles or blasters I don't care...at least missiles take some effort to lock on.
Btw, if spoty reads this, I sent you a PM stating that I'm willing to 'make up' if you want because looking back, I guess its all a huge misunderstanding and we're both right and wrong for certain things but heh..I never said I was perfect. Least I can do is compromise I guess. I don't like in game disputes basically because they're not needed.
I'm done arguing and explaining now.
