The thread in question ^ describes this very well, unfortunately it has been buried months ago....
Yes, the macro in it has a hyperspace command in it, and a few other settings to keep you moving at your best maneuvering speeds, among other things.
"Run" does not mean "try to fly away" heh...

Backstory; I ordered The Total Experience but had awhile to wait so I lurked the forums for a week, this is one of the threads I read in my bordom. And I had my very first space fight today.
My best friend went up with me, helped me figure out the controls more quickly and all that (he let me pilot his yaght earlyer, fun!) and then we went off as a team to fight some enemies. Everything I read from this post stuck with me and I blaim it for all our success today! What we did is he just sort of lead the whole way and I was his wingman, you'd be surprized how often they pull some clever stunt to get two of 'em right on my friends tail without even realising they just lined themselfs up infront of me. Anywho, we did ALOT of covering for eachother, every time I'd find an enemy chasing him and get to shoot it down, so much fun, made me feal really good about myself^.^ I'm needed yay! (actually, I have the same effect on our ground fighting too, me beingthere with my healing and tactics... He needs me ^.^ Wonderful fealing!)At the end of our hunting we escaped back to Tatooine and all the damage we sustained was, he took 5% damage to his armor, that was it, an hour of fighting, 40k profit between the two of us (not including ship components we kept), and 95% hull integrity on a Teir1ship... If there's one thing this guide is missing, it's advice for finding yourself a wingman ^_^
This one enemy was a TEXTBOOK manuver he explains in here, we went at eachother head on,lazer crossfire, I rolled and pitched a little and was missed by every shot (yay lazer light show!), then right when we passed eachother I was already turning hard using his little "slow down, speed up" thing and was on his tail in seconds. I laughed so hard, that was honestly the very first time anything has ever happined "exactly" as it's explained ina strat guide for me...

i have a question....... I have a x-wing and i equip three weapons that are all in good shape with no damage, i get to space and fire the weapons, and it says that my weapon is disable, it still shoots, but i still get that message and i was wondering why.................. I also noticed that my energy is red in the manage window???? is this the promlem, that my components are drawing to much energy then my ship can handle? how do i get more energy

The problem is your reactor is not putting out enough energy. One resolution is to use one of the reactor overload programs. (I suggest Reactor Overload 3, Engine Overload 3, Weapon Overload 3, then Capacitor Overload3. Or... Reactor OL 4, Engine OL4, Weapon OL3, Cap OL3 but this causes more decay than the previous)

these are droid programs, you need to have either a flight computer or a astromech droid (mattering on wether you're imp or rebel etc...) then those droids will have to be programmed. There's a really good explanation of this in the Pilot FAQ stickied at the top of the Pilot Forums.

another good tactic while they are on your backis to slam the speed to make them speed up as well, then drop the speed quickly, roll 90 pull up and your behind them.

I use an attack 3 joystick (by logitech), just a question, how do you program the thumb buttons?

Well I just flew for the first time and it was definitely one of the most frustrating experiences in a video game that I can remember. I felt absolutely helpless. The controls felt alien and like the ship was controlling ME.It isobvious that I need a completely different mentality. This thread has given me some hope tho, and some dedication. I hope I improve. What sounds really helpfulare those fraps clips. I checked the K.I.S.S thread and although I havn't read it yet, I saw no links for anything. Where can I find these clips please?

Aw that is too bad. Oh well I will probably just ignore spaceflight alltogether because honestly I will never be any good at it much less have fun doing it. I really saw no appeal to it anyhow but I did like your guide
Keep helpin others who do enjoy it!

Learning to fly-
The trick to learning to fly lies in trying to jump at the ground and miss. This can typically be done by....oh. wrong guide.
Very nice though, i even learned a thing or two.
