If the ground game had to be totally changed to get rid of everyone being a "Johnny compo" why then should we (the true Star Wars players - the ones that trade blaster bolts in deadly space combat at .95 lightspeed) be turned into Johnny comppos in space!
I think you will find that the fact that there was still a load of Awings flying is due to the fact it is extremely easy to get a JSF but incredibly difficult for a ground/space reb to get a JSF/Bebullab in comparison to a IMP/IMP, Im/Freelance, Reb/Freelance!
We had a huge battle in Kashyyyk tonight. Despite it being in a decay zone, quite a few JSFs showed up on both sides. A few rebels bailed early because they couldn't touch the JSFs. The one RG Intercepter never died in the 3 hour war... never. I was playing with a Krayt for the fight, I could not get a missile lock on the JSFs (strangely enough, it never even attempted it acted as if I didn't have a launcher, so that might have been a bug and not the JSF). The battle was dominated by the JSFs (and one A-wing pilot).
