On a one or two day basis this wouldn't cripple anyone's ability to make money to a critical level (if it is you should review your business strategy). However, it would add what the game needs most... more pilot content.





This isn't a business, it is a game. Running a "virtual business" is just an aspect of this game that some people go for.

These suggestions would not add any content. All they would add is aggravation to people who do not want to spend ten minutes just traveling between places, when they only have a few hours to play the game a few nights during the week.

Pilot content was added with RotW, ground & space missions. More content can be added with new places to go in space, like space stations that can be landed on, similar to the Avatar Platform. More content can be added with new types of space missions, such as the upcoming ability to board and take capital ships. New instanced space zones could be added wherein you have to fly past a blockade to deliver something to some contact.

What has been suggested in this thread is player aggravation.

For those planets that are Supposed to have a blockade, why don't they? With the advent of JTL, that IS possible now. Logisticly, it would be quite harrowing, We are used to going wherever we want, when we want, and much of this is from the Devs, and the general construction of the game.


I ran into a beautiful spawn, the other day, in Kashyyyk Space. All Tier II's and III's but... Wow! ship after ship after ship. The area was Swarming with pirate craft, now THAT was something. Yes, I could see how it could get tiring; doing the same thing, every time, whenever you wanted to get to these places, and, it would be removing something Non JTL enabled accounts have had access to since day one... and yet, SWG is finally capable of introducing REAL blockades, in some form. As pilots, we develop skills, not boxes. Put something Real in the game, that calls upon those skills, as it should be. Why CAN'T we go somewhere Normals aren't allowed to go? Kashyyyk Only requires the use of a ship, but no skill beyond this, why not places that actually require knowing how to fly?


Blockades can come in many flavors.

If it's not optional, the majority of players will be inconvenienced. That's not what SOE really wants to do.

Sure, everyone screams that the CU is an inconvenience and at first, it was. Now that we are all used to it, it has really enhanced the game in a very positive way that myself and many of my guildies are quite happy with.

I agree, to a point.

Smuggler missions should be more dynamic then your run of the mill cargo and passenger runs. Smugglers should have the option of keeping and selling the cargo and or possibly selling the passengers into slavery. Of course, such actions should put the smuggler up onto the Bounty Hunter terminals, right away. (I have always felt that BHs should be hunting smugglers too) Then Smugglers would have more reasons to hack the BH terminals...

Smugglers should also be able to take 'special' cargo runs for Jabba and other crime figures as well as Rebel Alliance figures. These missions could be very interesting and add a significant amount of content to the game, without negatively impacting the fun of most players.
