Okay, the Oppressor is a multirole craft by definition and by stats... yet it excels mainly in delivering high missile damage which qualifies as bombing

Yes, we did not manage to bring many B-Wings and Y-Wings into pvp, mainly because most of our pilots dont want to listen what ship they fly... and flying an experimental ship is pretty hard really

Also don't forget that it takes quite long to gather the components used in a B-Wing for example (this is a lot easier for smaller ships like a-wings and ties). Good guns are quite rare to loot for us rebels, as we don't have B-Wings that we can kill for those nice armek guns (lvl 10 4k+ max damage) nor is it that easy to gather lower guns... but as you suggested we want some kind of flak with missiles... so damage output needs to be lvl 8 and higher.

An additional missile slot and extra mass for the new X-Wing model would be very nice... but in the end we need to see how all the new ships in ROTW turn out

In PvP the Empire will alwas have one over the Rebels and Freelancers, there ships have a great profile, are speedy and can do really good turns. However once PvP gets fixxed (trust me it's not going to be 1 shot one kill forever.) The Empire will lose out on a few things to the freelancers and rebels.

First off Freelancers have the 'tank' ships. When PvP gets fixxed a Freelancer is going to have a ship that can dish out and take alot of damage. The con to being a freelancer will be our ships will be slowwer and somewhat easyer to hit. Rebels are imho the middle ground, there ships can't move like the Empire ships, tho the A-Wing can. And they can't carry the big heavy weapons and shields like the Freelancers can.

I think you'll see in the next few months more players useing X-Wing's in PvP. X-Wings are good ships, they can carry a good amount of stuff, there in the middle with speed and turns, and they do have a good profile to them.

I seriously hope there wont be further damage reduction as the curent system is near perfect in my eyes... One shot kills only happen when a ship is equipped really bad compared to the attacker.

Here we go again. /sigh.

PVP in space is not in need of fixing. WO3 needs fixing, a few other droid programs need fixing, ships need mass tweaking, but PVP space combat is PERFECT. If you get killed in 1 shot you either

A) Were not paying attention

B) Need to work on those piloting skills

C) Need to tweak your ships load out a bit.

9 times out of 10 people get one shot killed because of a lack of situational awareness. The flight mechanics work. It's not the PVP that needs to be fixed...it's the players skills that need to be fixed.

I know I speak for many pilots when I say that there have been some EPIC 1 on 1 dog fights. These kind of dogfights can last for a very very long time with both pilots scoring a few hits (using the good old shunt of course) along the way. But in the "real" Star Wars world the only people who don't get one shot killed are the "heros". Every other pilot is dust on the first hit. If you want to be a hero, learn to fly.

But you know what..let them "fix" the damage. It's not going to matter. A weak pilot will die anyway. 1 shot or 10, if you can't fly, you will die. Look at it like this.....if you're facing a pilot who is hard to kill now, just imagine how much harder that pilot will be IF they reduce damage. I fly a ship with very light shields (around 1500) and no armor. I know that if I get hit just once I am dead. So that makes me stay on my toes. And believe me when I tell you that I don't get shot down very often. So what happens once it takes 10 shots to kill me? To quote Sam Jackson in Shaft "Do you think that makes me less dangerous..or more dangerous"

I'm starting to get to the point where I hope the devs do reduce damage in PVP just so all of the good pilots out there can say "I told you so" as they blast everyone to bits. If these whiners had it their way we'd all be shooting paintballs from our blasters and Nerf rockts from our launchers.

This post to me outlines a major problem with JTL, and that is this RPG mindset some people have. Sony screwed up i think by bundling what is an action oriented game, with an RPG. Both play completely differenlty, and a lot of uniformed people don't seem to grasp this. They expect the space to be like the ground i think.

Ultimatly hes right though, eventually these people who can't hack an fast paced game where your personal skill as a player is what's measured (as opposed to your toons') will whine enoguh have JTL reduced to levels of shear stupidty. (Since when has SOE stuck to their orginal vision of a game?).

Last night, i had a dogfight that lasted several minutes, and the whole time i was thinking, if damage were reduced any further, we'd be at this same damn dogfight all freaking night. Eventually i lost and was disabled, my response to my opponent, "about damn time", his reply, "No joke".

Considering how hard it can be to get one or two hits onto good pilot, im not even sure anymorewhether fixing WO3 will help or hurt space pvp.

It would eventually equal another 50% damage reducation(if not more, depending how much WO3 increases damage) which might really make small ships inferior to about any other ship.
