I just did RSF earlier this week, so I can confirm the "help" you get on the tier 4 exit mission just sits there staring at each other while you engage 2 gunboats and 10 fighters. They were eventually stirred to action by something, but by that time I'd already worked things to the point where I had it under control, so they weren't exactly useful.

I'm running into a big bug on Storm Squadron right now. Second mission, tier 3. I've run it successfully twice now, but when I go talk to my mission giver guy, he doesn't acknowledge that and just gives me the same mission again. I know I'm completing it correctly, so I don't know what the deal is. But right now, I'm stuck.

Okay, just ran it a third time. (It's miraculously short for a SS mission.) I went off to do something after the final leg of the mission to make sure I hadn't been hypering too early, and after 15 minutes, it still hadn't given me a new part to the mission, so I headed in to the trainer. Who's still giving me the same mission.

One potential cause is the last leg is a patrol where you're ordered to dispatch any Rebel command craft you run across. I haven't run into anything in that patrol yet and it's giving me a "Mission Successful" message each time, however, so I'm really not sure here.

Think I nailed down the bug with that Storm Squadron mission.

Earlier tonight I opened a CSR ticket to try to get more info about what was going on. The CSR responded that many space missions have multiple legs and that the logs showed I hadn't completed all of them. Not too helpful on the surface, but this dovetailed with a suspicion I had about the patrol segment of the mission, the description for which goes something like "Run a patrol of Endor. Destroy any Rebel command craft you see on the way."

Presumably, I was supposed to be running into something big before completing the mission, but in my three prior completions of the patrol I never had. It seemed possible that I was actually finishing it too fast for it to give me the next leg of the mission--I'm flying around with an overloaded pre-nerf 6 that had my TIE/In going about 1200, 1500 with the boosters I use as soon as they're recharged--so when I got to the patrol segment this time, I ran it at a speed of 500 to see if that changed anything.

This time, I was interrupted mid-patrol with an update about helping the 3rd TIE Squadron, so I flew over to the waypoint, finished the battle, and completed the mission for real this time. My trainer trained me and gave me the next mission and everything looks okay.

My conclusion is it's possible to run the patrol leg faster than it was coded to handle, and if you run out of patrol waypoints before being sent the final leg, you'll never be able to truly complete the mission. This may be a problem with similar missions as well. Seems like there's a couple ways to fix it (extend the length of the patrol, get the final leg sent to you sooner, or whatever), but I think that's the problem here, anyway. Bugged it in-game as well.

Doh! I actually knew about that. While doing my Imp squadrons, I ran into that with even an REed post-nerf lvl 6 engine (overloaded, of course) with the first Tier 4 missions. My Interceptor was too fast and would sometimes go through the patrol without getting the next part of the mission. I should've posted that before. (Zaxen, my guildmate, can confirm that he encountered the same thing.)

This is not really a bug, but instead of adding a new topic I thought it'd roughly fit here.

Black Epsilon, second Mission from Tier 3 Trainer (located on Yavin). (There might be other missions where a similar problem exists.)

During the mission story, you make up a split between the hutts and nyms by whatever. =)

The final part is where Hutts and Nyms forces would fight each other with 7 or 8 Tier 4 ships each. The mission is to destroy Nyms ships and to support the Hutt.

Now you'd think, when they are battling each other, they are busy enough so they would basically ignore a TIE unless it attacks them. If you're unlucky though, you end up having 14 or 16 (whatever that was) Tier 4 ships on you --at a point where you got a single Tier 3 skill box-- ignoring the battle they were originally supposed to fight.

While there's no reason why either side should not be aggressive on the player, some amount of aggression level control surely make sense. Unless the player attacks one of them, they should hunt the opposing forces with way more priority.

I was lucky enough to have some Smuggler pilot with me who could deal with Nyms while I tried to evade the Hutt as much as possible, so I didn't fail the mission in the end. And yes, I know if I had someone with me who'd get aggro from both sides and not only one (because the Hutt would not attack my Smuggler pilot friend in this case), it'd have been easier for me. Still, the design of such battles seems to be quite poor.

I'm a privateer / smuggler pilot starting out of Mos Eisley. My first tier 2 mission is not bugged but it says to pick up an item from Nyms and bring it to a certain person on Tatooine. It never says what city or where they can be located. Tatooine is a pretty big planet, alot of places to look. Any help?

I got the same problem. Have been running around Nyms Stronghold talking to what feels like everybody. But can´t find the guy for the pick-up. And i have to agree on the second part, it is a little bit hard running around all over Tatooine to find the drop-off, hehe.

But when i got the mission the trainder told me i got an waypoint, but i didnt. And my datapad is far from full.

Anyone who have done it care to help us out?

Thanks ppl.

It's definitely on the confusing side. Particularly since it's like a civilian freighter.. maybe I've mellowed in my advancing years, but my first instinct isn't to blow up everything in sight.

Well, not since the first week or two of JTL, anyway.

Be sure to let us know how it works out for you, I'm sure the info will be useful to other pilots as well.

I'm having trouble with the second Tier 4 mission for RSF.

The mission calls for me to travel to Endor and inspect a freighter at a certain location, looking for Industrial Equipment. I get to the location and sure enough... there's a freighter wandering in circles about the waypoint with two apparent escort fighters. So I sidle up to the freighter and hit my "Inspect" key, and the freighter proves to be carrying Elemental Gas... not what I'm looking for. However, the mission stops there... no new waypoint, no mission leg complete, nothing. So I tried again, this time typing in "/inspect" like the mission journal said. Still no response from the mission tracker.

At this point I trieddisabling the freighter and docking. I did this without the escort fighters even as much as noticing me. It then said I had transferred the cargo, but nothing showed in inventory. So I destroyed the freighter and waited for a respawn. Another freighter showed up and I repeated the same steps... with the same results (or lack thereof). I even inspected the fighters... even blew one up. No response from either his mate nor the mission tracker.

Quick trip back to Theed (which failed the mission once I left Endor space), retook the mission, traveled out to what turned out to be the same waypoint, with the same lack of mission response.

I really hope someone can help out with this. I'm maxed on XPs and am effectively gated unless I can complete this

I ran this mission just a couple weeks ago and remember having similar problems. All I did to complete it was blow up the freighter, then wait for the next one to show up, and if it didn't have the right cargo, repeat until it did.

A little on the ruthless side even for my tastes, but it got the job done.

Can you provide any more info as to what you were doing at the time, how far into the escort part it was, or anything else that might be relevant? Did this mission a couple weeks ago too (RSF and Storm Squadron in the same week, good times) without any problems, but it looks like something weird is going on for some pilots. Maybe if we collect enough information we can figure out what's happening here.
