Thread: Focus: Player-Controlled Capital Ships
Hello,
To be honest I didnt read all the posts. So if this has been suggested already, cool. We could go on all day about limitations for the capitol ships. And looks like we are. I LOVE TO FLY. I would love to have a capitol ship. So here is my Idea.
Make a new Tier for pilot.
Capitol Pilot
most players dont ever reach master. those that do, stop flying. With a new Tier for pilot not many will bother to get there to get one, and it they do, wont ever take it out of the hager. For those of us that trully enjoy being up there, we will have what we want without having to worry that every noob pilot is up there.
Well there it is.
Lumar-Imperial Ace
Oarkear-Corsec Master Pilot
Never underestimate the power of kitsch.
I have to agree with ShogunArmada. Not everybody is in a guild and of those people, not all of them might want to be in a guild. I personally like to be unguilded. Why? because it is a personal preference. I am sure others have different reason. Making capitol ships only available to guilds would be unfair to people who either are not in a guild or choose not to be in a guild.
That being said, I feel that while capitol ships should be available to all who are able to get them (either by doing a very difficult and time consuming quest or by purchasing them with faction points)there need to be limits on how many capitol ships can be in a system at once. I think that about 3 or 4 capitol ships in a system at once is enough. That would keep people from just launching capitol ship after capitol ship.
I think that a group of eight players should be needed to crew a ship. Additional players of that faction (up to 8 more) could dock with the ship if they want to help repel boarders. An interesting idea would be to have npc's aboard the capitol ships to help in repelling boarders.
Evidently he was warned for "badgering" the Developers.

Okay, it's been three weeks now without any reply. My guess, then, is the quote about player-controlled capital ships being a demo as opposed to a serious possibility should be taken for what it's worth.
You know what I find totally baffling? They have an elaborate Correspondent system, with separate forums and feedback threads and all that... and they don't have the common decency to actually talk to you guys and give answers to your questions when you ask them.
I mean, it's not like there's 250000 Correspondents so there's not enough time or resources, is it.
