I try to find time to help those who genuinely need it, but for those who are just looking for a free ride, they're on their own. Generally, it's not too hard to tell the difference.
LMAO!!! That is sooo going into my Sig!!!!! Right on Tomo!
ROFL, I like that line too... now I gotta get off my rear and remake my sig, eh, still gotta add CU changes and fix how it got screwed up when the forums crashed.
And in the very vein that was written in, Fixed!!!!

A pilot without her attitude is just some girl.

So basically, I don't "do the mission for you" I stay about 50m off there right wingtip matching speed and manuevors and I add the support to the mission. If it's a tough mission I'll boost ahead and disable a gunboat or remove the teeth from a Nova Courier, but I leave the ball in the mission holders court.
I have such a hard time with this, Sit around, wait for the next wave, tell myself to take it easy...and then those little red target boxes appear and the blood races to my finger tips and...dammit, I shot them all ![]()
Got so bad last time I went up with a friend he was teasing me about the game being if he could kill one before I cleaned em all up. I get a stick in my hands and just can't hold back.

My fav is still
The difference between a pilot and an engine?
The engine stops whining once the plane lands.

hehehehe, it's all about the /matchtargetspeed macro! LOL! Though I agree.. those red boxes are so tempting.... it's like that Ren and Stimpy cartoon with the big red shiney candy like button that erases all of existance!
By the way... my fiancee' seems quite interested in taking over my alt, I'll be sure she put's...

Oh, and if your fiancee' decides to take your alt, have her come over to StarSider to hang with the *good* pilots ![]()

LMAO!!!! Lets see here.. I'm on Ahazi... I finally, after 2 years get my fiancee' interested and you think I'll send her to starsider? LMAO! You're so cute when you're joking! LMAO!
Actually, My toon, Imp ace x4. Her toon will be Reb ace at least for awhile. This way we can bring some good old fashioned family fun to Ahazi. Starsider already has a great pilot community, I'm doing my best to help foster one on Ahazi.
/bowrespectfully but... KEEP YOUR SERVER AWAY FROM MY BABY!!! LMAO! ![]()
Space is just not my thing, though i like the badges and the medals and the spiffy craft in my datapad (God no, I'd never actually go up in one of those things. Looks dangerous).
So I'd like to thank:
Firas for basically taking me all the way up to 4444
Melko for doing the Kessel Vette mission for me.
Vilko for getting me my Crimson Tie.
And Zaxxon, Ginsubaca and a crew of other aces who did a double gunboat mission for me while I watched from 2000m and gave such helpful advice as: 'I say, can you people hurry it up? That one nearly hit me'.
Thank you, intrepid birdmen all!
I will help others in their missions, have no problems doing so, and have yet to have someone complain about me kill stealing. They usually are the ones who are doing the gate (required) missions and just need to get past it to grind the next tier. And yes, I agree the rushers are fairly easy to spot, and it is a personal preferance on whether or not you want to go and get the prestige points. If I do choose to help them grind, it is usually for a guildmate or one of my alt toons, and just stick them in the back of my krayt while I rack up the loot and prestige points, and they are usually very happy just to ride along, try to shoot from the turret, get the good xp, and not worry about the loot. The bad thing about rushing someone who is then going to use the title just to do space (if it is their first time through), is that they don't get the practice and technique down that comes with the grind of soloing the whole profession.
Pesonally I love flying, and yes I was several months into the ground pounding before I started flying, but since I had play the xwing and tie fighter series from 10 yrs ago, several times through, and this plays much the same, thought most of it a piece of cake. Just wish my old joystick was usb as I can't stand most of the new ones, so had to learn to play using the mouse.
Like most things in this game, it comes down to personal preferance on who you will help, if you want to help, if you have time to help, and if you don't want to be bothered all the time to help, don't put the helper tag above your name.
Loved the diffence between the pilot and engine line, as I work directly with a bunch of pilots in real life, and they are exactly the same way, whine about everything, well a good number of them do anyway.
Anyway, my 2 cents in the end is, if you don't want to help these guys, don't, and if you do and they bug you about stuff, ignore them or tell them that you won't help anymore for whatever reason you chose.
Take some advice from Barbara Bush....JUST SAY NO!!!

I don't know about you guys, but I am.
Frankly, I REALLY don't mind helping people out with missions.
Well...let me rephrase that. I don't mind helping people out on missions that they:
a) tried and failed at several times solo and or grouped with friends,
b) haven't been able to find help for.
What's starting to seriously tweak me are the tide of new pilots (and this just ain't the brand-newbies - you former chest-beating ground pounders who want another badge are largely guilty of this too) who see JTL as just another title/badge, and see people like me, who've invested a lot of time and experience into my "craft" (if you could call it that), and use me like a goddamned space sherpa to drag them up the tiers.
Since evidently I didn't use 1337speak or smiley faces, evidently I have to put something here claiming that everything I said past this point was to be read with as egotistical SARCASM.
So, I've decided on a happy medium. My JSF easily has about 20 million in desirable loot on it, maybe more, it's hard to approximate these things. I (just today) have 50 PvP kills on the server to a mere six deaths. I've taken down over 300 Vettes, most for fun because depressingly enough - it's a damn nice spawn for Kessel since they took the megaclouds out (even though bragging about something as simple as fragging a Vette is like a frat boy knocking a kid out of a wheelchair to win the 50 yard dash in the Special Olympics). I can easily make AI Tier 4 and 5 gunboats my b*tch.
So, being one of, and if not THE best pilot on Eclipse, I think from now on, unless someone is a longtime friend or guildie of mine, my services will cost 1 million per mission. If you're going to make me do your mission for you, I may as well be well-compensated for the services rendered. If JTL is worth nothing to you but something you can say "I did all by myself, I'm 31337," then you can afford to pay my ass for the best assistance possible on the Eclipse server.
Because when I can make 300k per hour in loot and credits running duties, 100k for a boring-ass Tier 3 escort and circle jerk just ain't worth my time anymore.

Its posts like this that make me laugh.
I fly for the love of simply flying, will help anyone, anywhere, anytime as long as it does not clash with other commitments. I have mastered 5 different Pilot, and currently have 2 toons with master and a 3rd I'm working on as I find time.
I just guess you are not really a pilot when you have to fly for cash rather than to help someone and have there gratitude as your payment. If you dont want to help say no its not hard it is after all only 2 letters, lets say it together now 'N....O'there see that was easy.
