I've had two fights last more than one pass. We were both VERY good pilots at the time. Neither one of us allowed the other to set up a straight shot and it took me pulling some very fancy throttling around my ship's sweet spotto get inside his orbit for the kill shots.
We flew away 1-1.

I haven't died in pvp. But I've been hit one, twice, blowning my forward shields to nil and nicking a few hitpoints off my armor. Most of my pvp kills are 2 or more shots, to save weight I run one level 8 or two level 7's depending on ship i have. One ARC-170 in deepspace seemed to take 6 or more dead on shots before it blew, I chalked that one up as lag.

Can you have a rebel or RSF pilot give you a programmed card and insert it in your droid or astromech and get the skill? and have it useable? not that wouldn't be consiodered a traitor, but I have a second account with a RSF pilot, and if any of those skills work would be pissa!

Droid programs, yes. See Comprehensive Droid Routine Breakdown.

Nothing about space PvP needs to be changed except POSSIBLY a form of mitigation implemented on POB ships.
Yeah I agree. Fighter vs Fighter seems fine, imo.
Two shots to kill an enemy is not "fine" by any stretch of the imagination.
And why not?
Indeed, what is wrong with fighter vs fighter combat?
Watch the Star Wars trilogy again, fighter vs fighter combat is over in a few shots. The imbalance comes when POB ships are thrown in.
Yup, agreed. I just dont have the mass for a reward shield and armour, so more often than not, it takes only one hit. If you don't wanna die in one hit, make some mass for shields and armour.
Given what I've seen of shield/armor efficacy, its just a waste of money on components.

No it isnt!
You pick the components for offensive/defensive capability as you want (used to do that with ships preROTW to) then you learn to fight with them!
