When try to launch the y-8 it says "you cannot launch another ship with an interior. Empty out one of your others ships and you may take off"
yhea... that was pretty disapointing... I suppose I could've anticipated it, but... Dang.
Well, as cool as the Y-8 is, it is not as cool as the yacht, and not as useful as the nova. Guess it'll be repacked.
Phase 1: sometimes the wookie disappears, or suddenly stops following you. Whenever the phase is complete he still follows you and you get the "you failed to remain close to your escort" message every three seconds ANYTIME you are on Kashyyyk. Upon retaking this mission, sometimes just talking to the wookie will fail your mission.
Phase 2: Wookies sometimes disappear, stop following. On phase complete, the mission reports regularly that you have failed by not staying close to escort. Mirror bugs of the one above.
Was this thing beta tested or what?? It seems more than 50% of the new quests/cotent are NOT working.
... or was the digital download a public beta test for the retail version? hmm.
I must say the Y-8 was an exceptional disappointment for one simple (and for me possibly fatal) design flaw. For all the wonderful glass all over the place, the pilot cannot see directly in front, due to the central placement of the pilot chair - right under the large, very wide, central ceiling beam.
So much for hitting anything with the pilot's gun, you can't even see what you are flying towards. And to cap it all off, both of the operations chairs (yes - there are 2!) have a beautiful, unobstructed views. Any chance of having a radial option on the ship "access menu" to just switch the pilot chair to the front left ops chair?
Out of interest, the major problem with this is that unlike a starfighter with a bad cockpit design, the "show cockpit frame" option does not work to hide the surroundings in a Y-8 to the pilot. Also, due to the vertical shape of the Y-8, if you play in external mode (which I find quite un-immersive anyway), you still can't see infront of the ship properly.
Overall, my impression is that this is a great ship, unless you want to decorate it or fly it.
Or maybe my problem is that I'm a Bothan, so I just can't see over the dashboard anyway?

The deal with the Y-8 is, as soon as you drop one item in it, it thinks it's full, even after you pick that item back up.
For everyone who's having severe lag and crashes when launching into space, are you all launching out of Talus starports? Or is anywhere else having this problem as well?

Yes, the lock up/crash happens after I launch out of a Talus starport.
target unreticle has a slight bug now, the reticle must be off center because you can not target what you have in your reticle it targets objects above and even to the sides but not directly infront of the reticle.
If you are under 100m from a ship/object/station it will jump randomly across your radar if it is selected.
Extreme lag in Kashyyk system, seems to be coming from the "space lighting" that goes from one end of the system to the other end. Seems impossible to get out of range of it. At times it flashes mutipule times in a few seconds and cause near lock up in space. and I dare say there is tooo many patches of nebulastoo closely together in Kash system.
inspect icon did not get updated, if it was on your hotkey bar it was removed.
Lots of lag in the Corellia system, there seems to be 100s and 100s of asteroid chunks floating around at the edge of space.
TIE Oppressor and Decimator, 3rd missile does not show up on hud, also the 3rd missile slot does not make tones or lock on animation. I dont know if this is happening with other ships with 3 missile slots, I am an Imperial pilot.

It might sound funny but the wrong badge bothers me a lot more than the currently not fully working ship (as I outfitted it with the engine, the capacitor and the best blaster from my freelancer's alt heavy mass monster it works impressively good already without the FC :-P).
But I just cannot endure having a rebellion badge on my character :-). I filed a ticket in hope the CSR can and will change the badge to the correct one

1. The new heavy X-wing and Tie are bugged. They cant load droids or flight computers. Which basically makes them useless.
2. The ARC170 and the jedi starfighter cannot even be undeeded....
3. The new 'ionic pulse weapon' is bugged. It appears on the ship missing. It has no gun graphic. When you try to use it, all other guns fire instead using its firing graphic.
4. The quest to get the heavy X and the tie are bugged if you choose the wrong answer at a certain point.
5. The heavy X-wing is 180k mass. Whats that all about??? Basically all the new ships are highly unbalancing. There is no reason to ever use a pre-RotW ship now. Assuming the bugs are fixed of course.
Im hearing reports of Z-95s with 600 YPR and 80k mass. That will basically wipe the floor with any current ship out there. 600 YPR with a lvl10 engine and reward shields??? How is anyone ever going to be able to justify using ANY other ship in PvP now. Everyone in deep space will be in starter ships from now on. Or will die...
The reason the starter ships had 600YPR was because their mass was so small that they couldnt fit more than a lvl4 engine. The devs have really dropped the balance ball if they have introduced 80k mass starter ships.
How can they even justify this? Are the small dorsal strakes on the Z-95 able to increase the loadout of the ship from 12k to 80k???
Im sorry for the minor rant but Im just not sure how this space upgrade can in any way be good for the game.
What is a B-wing pilot supposed to think now? 180k X-wings? What about oppressors? A reasonable increase inmasswould have been 20 percent more than the standard type of ship. That would not have been unbalancing and would still be more than desirable to get hold of one. And would, quite frankly, be a lot more believable...
Again sorry for the rant. But this new upgrade isnt donging my bell at the moment. About to try the mining mission. Maybe that will be more bug-free and balanced...

QFE remi!
Specially the advanced X-wing mission bug that got me.
However when i failed and grabbed it again the mission worked fine the second time.
Problem was:
After part one of the message reception completion you are supposed to fly to another WP, where you are to meet an Imperial Lambda class shuttle and transfer the message.
Well the Lambda class ship never arrived and the enemy spawns were endless.
This was on Valcyn, last night (5/5/05), at 9pm EST.
