Pilot Archive
Thread: New Player Correspondant
I have limited experience with JTL (just started seriously pursuing master last week) and I have only been in the Pilot forum since then, but I must say that Tomo's posts have helped me immensely in that pursuit.
I have found the Pilot FAQ incredibly useful in understanding the mechanics behind my progression in pilot, and the way all of the previous FAQ's and info are tied together is perfect for me. I have made it to 3333 in one week (tier 4 is proving a problem - lol), and I owe that to his posts, as well as the rest of y'all's. ![]()

I'd post some flaming remarks, but it just realized flaming these newbies from the ground game who don't know any better isn't worth the time.
How you do these so fast is beyond me. My hand is cramping up and I'm practically falling asleep in my chair at the moment. I've been at this for many, many hours now. I did all of Tier 2 and 3 today, and I just finished my first box in Tier 4. My whole body hurts from not leaving my chair for so long. But I want to keep grinding...
/salute Tomo
He's a great correspondent and pilot......and besides that he's the best SW on our server ![]()
Tomoknows his stuff and doesn't need to be slammed by someone whodoesn't know left from right when it comes correspondence issues with the Devs.

/DISAGREE
The pilot FAQ is awesomely orginized and it's a pure databank of info, more then once i have referred to it for help during play and some of the manuevers posted there have saved my life in pvp....
I don't see the original posters point so...
GO TOMO!
So, since saying something like "You're nuts!" would be rude and un-civil, I'll just go with:

Alright,
1: It's RAINER.
2: Learn how to spell and paragraph correctly so I can read what you're saying.
3: SoE doesn't care if you don't like the corro or not. So don't expect anything good to come out of this post.
4: Most importantly, I KNOW Tomo. He flys regularly on the unofficial JtL server (Starsider). He DOES talk to the devs about problems and such. The problem here lies in the fact that the devs never listen. I mean, look at what happened to commando, even after our corro pushed and pushed for us to even get a comprimise out of the devs. The only fix we've gotten since the CU is fixing the new proton rifles so they fire again. So just because Tomo may not post as often here as you would prefer, that doesn't mean he's not trying to get fixes and not leading the pilot community.
5: The JtL forums are NOT the Pilot forums, don't expect Tomo to post there regularly.
6: How long have you even been a pilot? Give me a record of your experience with this profession to back up your attempt to get rid of the current correspondent. Have you even mastered yet?
7: Stop posting flamebaits.
Indeed. I've been playing JTL since beta and Aced in the first 10 days it went live. I've got more flight time loged than I do ground time, I've got a nice list of player kills across 2 servers, I spend more time helping rookie pilots than I actually do PVPing or FP/Loot farming, and I am not 1/10th of the pilot Tomo is. I've only had a chance to talk to him in game a few times but the guy knows his stuff and I trust he is doing a good job and looking out for the pilot community.
Like the old saying goes "Don't hate the player; hate the game" That applies soooooo well to SWG. The Corros and yes even the CSRs do not have the voice most of us think they do. Sure they have the Devs ear but we all know that the Devs are going to do what THEY want to do no matter what. Look at the CU and RotW. Had the Devs listened to the overwhelming player feed back the CU would probably still be in testing. RotW was/is bugged to hell. The players knew it, the Devs knew it. They still launched it. They do what they want when they want. The don't care about the Star Wars timeline, the go for the quick mass market draw rather than trying to get new players AND keep the old ones. At this point it seems to me the Devs are only out to move new units and not create an immersive Star Wars world for all of us geeks to get lost in. The only thing that keeps me here is JTL and the pilot community.
The corros and the CSRs can only do so much. Give them a break and hate on the Devs.
lol... this has got to be the most rediculous post I have ever read on this forum (including all the people that whine about tier 4 taking too much xp).
1. Tomo genuinely cares about this prof and everything associated with it, from writing indepth guides to help new pilots to training pilots for PvP(like me)to being an excellent example of civil behavior in PvP space combat or just hanging out on the ground.

Pilot has many bugs and none of them have been fixed. The pilot forums seem empty and void of help fromTomoraider and the severe bugs and flaws with the profession are not listed at the top of the forums. I and many other players agree we need to vote in a more competant leader to rule the senate.... I mean pilot profession lol =P No offense to TomoRaider but I think someone else could perform this duty better and that someone should. Pilots need their opinions voiced and at the moment I dont see it happening. I see players with brilliant ideas in these forums that should be stickied yet are ignored. I'm not saying "give me a glowy tag" but SOMEONE needs to be put in place to voice our needs.
