Heh, also...I don't know what it is, but I've always preffered the lighter weight interceptor/space superiority type fighters over gunships and bombers, however...there is just that strange cool feeling about flying a decently set up Y-wing.

Especially when overt.

It is a workhorse....just like what it says on the tin. It also has the added bonus of looking completely ridiculous .

I love it.

The YWLP is my main ship. If I'm not sure what I'll be doing in space, it's always my choice. Though if I were a major manueverability fiend, I probably wouldn't like it, much.

I think the real problem is in the fact that you have two tiers of Ywing before you get to anything else. And the free turret Ywing is useless as a first ship to get after the starter. Whowould be fool enough to turret on tier one missions, anyway?

Bottom line is, if you don't like the Ywing, ya won't have too many options for a while. That in itself could be pretty annoying.

Actually, it's a hell of a lot of fun to go through tier1-2 with someone, and both of you ride in 1 Ywing. You can do most missions simultaneously, and accomplish every goal, even as a passenger. The only time riding in a Ywing breaks down, is when docking is required. The flags can't be set correctly and "cargo transferred" to a passenger. I've often been tempted to get this reported as a bug, but I think it's intentional

Escort missions are actually fun when its a "convoy"

Kill X ships goes double fast.

2 people same squad, same mission means identical waypoints, it's a joy.

I did all of Tier 2 and 3 in the gunner's seat of a Y-wing with Zaxen when we both did all the squadrons. When he hit Tier 4 he pulled out his X-wing, but Tier 2 and 3 was insanely fun like that. Harder than hell to hit things sometimes, but a lot of fun.
