Thread: the star destroyer (solo'd it)
it still takes awhile to solo and the tower is the hardest to get rid of, i took it out and my friend who helped me got 9300 credits when i took like 54% off it and got the kill blow

Well I for one do not exploit blind spots, or rub the hull or even use fighters for it.
I use the most "gimped" ship in the game. My YT. I don't launch a single piece of ordnance. I do it the hard way; the FUN way.
From my experience, launching ordnance is actually barely possible. Seems like the lock-onrange of missiles is calculated from the center of the SD, not the component. Makes it alot faster to just blast the components away.
But yeah, what fun is it to rub the hull? I did what the B-wing is supposed to do, go head on, weaving slightly to avoid the SD turrets while blasting away at the components. Even that is fairly easy without PC's protecting it. I'm not saying it needs to be harder to take it down, there needs to be a strategic reason from IMPs to protect it, and a strategic reasons for REBs to take it down. Same thing with the space station, only the other way around...

See the problem is most of you miss the devs point yes the Sd is supposed to be that easy to kill. but your saying y thats just stupid no its not the point is for the rebs to kill it and the imperials to protect it that was always the devs intentions i mean one of the load screens actualyl says that if rebs are soloing the Sd imperials arent doing there job plain and simple.
Some of us have been saying that very thing. Read the post above yours, for instance. ![]()
The problem is that while, yes, players are meant to be the prime protection for the Star Destroyer and the Space Station, players have actually no, nada, zip reason and motivation to do so. SOE has provided us with something that has no reward at all(and I'm not talking about XP and money here, that does not work as a motivational tool to create large scale PvP). What SOE has done with Deep Space can be likened to providing two Hockey teams with a rink, a puck but no goals/nets. Imagine how such a Hockey game would look, that's the scenario SOE has created with Deep Space (and the GCW overall, really) Why bother when it means nothing at all?
