Hey if all the pilots here dont care that the shipwrights are trying to make huge changes involving cutting off their primary revenue stream and forcing them into random vanilla weapon configurations then fine. However I am sure that most people will wait to protest this until it is too late. If you know anything about the history of patches in this game, once the damage is done they rarely reverse it. Space was so much fun for me and brought the life back into the game.

Many shipwrights are asking to make loot very rare in space force everyone to buy factory made "random vanilla" components. This concept really upsets me like you could not image. The reason is that shipwright is a small minority of the population while there are thousands of pilots out there. Most established shipwrights are already making a killing. Why thousands of players should have their games ruined so that a few already established wealthy can make 2.5 million a day instead of 1.5 million a day is not justified to me.

As you can see it is the shipwrights who are one starring and insulting just as they do to other pilots and shipwrights (myself included) who disagree with the big loot nerf they are calling for.

But even when we have a post that would only add to loot and not take away ONE thing, you assume we are asking for a loot nerf.

I can tell you that every MSW I know IRL and in-game is not making much money at all. What you are talking about with 1.5 mill and 2.5 mill a day are the VERY FEW minority of MWS.

What pilots need to understand, now mind you I am not asking for any change to loot, is that without Shipwrights you would not be able to FLY!!!! So if most of the SW leave because there is nothing worthwhile to craft, no factory support, that you are going to be left with a few shipwrights that want to make a ton of CR and are going to charge you an arm and a leg for ANYTHING.

To keep prices low you need competition to drive proces down. The competition in SW is going down and many are starting to raise prices.

So PLEASE take a minute and read what many of us SW are trying to do like this post, it seems like anything we do is considered a "NERF TEH LOOT" post

Yes. I have been protesting this along the way. The shipwrights have been crying out for people to nerf loot drops. They nerfed the quality of the loot drops but that was not enough. They shipwrights have been insisting that they make ALL loot very rare. If you dont believe me, just check out their boards. I had decide to boycott shipwright and use only looted components, but now with the state of loot drops there is no option for me except to quit SWG.

It is so horrible how a greedy few can so readily and easily destroy the game for EVERYONE. This is the worst thing to happen to SWG yet.

I am going to do some heavy piloting this weekend and if things are as bad as I have heard then I am cancelling all of my SWG accounts. I strongly suggest that we band together and boycott all crafted items if possible.

And this is coming from a shipwright.

The only reason i use space loot vs crafted loot is some sw charge 150k for a simple level 4 item. which they have to due becouse the huge number of resources need for the freaking compoents. maybe if the devs would just reduced the number of metal need from 50k to 5k might bring the prices down.

I killed 50 TIE's in the Kessel System tonight, and got two components. I thought that loot drops in the Kessel System were just lower than in other systems, but from what you guys are saying I guess that might be wrong. I buy a lot of my components from Shipwrights, but loot is one of the best incentives for flying in space once you've mastered. There aren't missions like on the ground, so the only way to really get anything accomplished is to collect and sell loot. I don't really have a problem with a lower quantity of loot, but I would like to see the quality stay up there and be competitive with Shipwrights. Not much is cooler than killing a Tier 5 TIE Agressor, and finding that perfect weapon that you can use for a very long time.

Sorry as a shipwright, I'd say it's not the greedy shipwrights who are whining - it's the inept ones. They aren't making any money cuz they craft crap.

I have always tired to stay on the More loot side myself, as I never saw it as a threat - I actually liked it as a comparison to what I can make so much better.

The ONLY loot thats always better than crafted are the Tier 4 rewards that people THOUGHT were loot. They'll decay, so they pose no threat. They were EARNED and deserve to stay in the game, in fact I wish the 92.2 cert 6 Reward engine would come back - but maybe as a cert 8 to shut the whiners up.

Other than that, there are very few pieces of rare loot I would call exceptional, and the only way to really make loot exceptional is to have a Shipwright Reverse Engineer it - so I am out nothing. I have RE'd over 10,000 pieces of loot and have another 10k backed up waiting to be dealt with, I know loot. I've probably looted close to 1000 pieces on my own since launch too. I have my 99.9 cert 8 engine and a few other premium pieces of glory, but they were not the norm and I think it sucks the Devs gave in to the whiners.

A whiney shipwright is an idiot.

Actually, no, they don't. They charge as much as they do on the items like weapons and consumables, because the bluprints they sell end up being a sort of "lost leader" and they need a way to recoup the losses incurred in the production of these items. For those unfamiliar with the term, it's a retail tool where you sell one item at a loss, in order to encourage the people that seek to buy that item to spend additional money on items you will be selling at a much higher profit margin. This is much like a supermarket putting turkey on sale before Thanksgiving, for say, $0.29/lb. in the hopes that you will buy your stuffing, veggies, gravy, deserts, and beverages at the store, because you're already there. If you buy just the turkey, they may break even, or even take a small loss. I think the same is true for shipwrights. They are forced to carry blueprints to remain viable, but these are giant resource sinks, and end up selling far below what a reasonable profit margin would be. The loss is made up in weapons allong with other components, and consumables like munitions.

This is probably a little off topic for the pilot forum, but I'm no shipwright, so I won't be trolling their boards with this sort of suggestion. I think the resource requirement for ships, should be 1/10th what it is right now, and the price paid to the chassis dealer increased by 10x. The reasoning for this is pretty simple. Why on earth would "blueprints" require so many resources? I have no idea how that would be recieved, but that's my take anyway.

Just for the record I dropped of he loot I've been too lazy to drop off from the past3 nights flying... 432,000 credits (including last nights take of 126k) at my local shipwright. Add to that the payments I've been getting from running the black sun duty missions and the credit loot and that puts me around 700k or better since Tuesday night. I don't think the drop rate has lowered at all. Esp. since most of the time has been spent doing this .

Well i usually loot from Destroy Missions (Tier4), i noticed that during the first Targets i get few drops. But as i get bigger waves (4 in first, 5 in second, and 6 in last wave), i start to get more loot. Considering that one can kill all 3 Waves within 3 Minutes, you get a decent amount of cash AND good Loot.

I notice that when I am grouped I tend to get more loot, but not by much.

I helped out 2 people on longer mission last night, spent about 30 minutes in kessel, and ended up with my usuall 60+ looties.

I do know that sometimes it seems to take longer then others, I always just chock that up to hitting the short-end of the loot table

There is no question that the space loot has been reduced in the last patch. I run the same routine every day, in regards to flying. I get the Tier 4 Black Sun duty mission after dropping off the previous night's loot either in the house, or at the local chassis dealer. With an empty inventory, I run the BS duty mission completely through to the end. In the past, I have averaged 55 loot pieces per night doing this mission, and Tuesday night 21 of those pieces were worth keeping for future RE use, while 34 went to the chassis dealer. Last night, I ran the same routine once again, to come back with 34 loot pieces, 5 of which were worthy of keeping for RE, which is a 38% reduction in my average loot per mission based on the previous 7 or 8 nights. (not counting Weds night)

The 5 pieces that I keptconsisted of3 shields and 2 weapons, both of which shipwrights can craft very comparable pieces, so when I say worthy of keeping, it's not by much. There were no stats on either of these 5 components that stood out as being superior in any way, and I received not one level 10 loot item during the entire duty mission, which has not been the norm in the past.

Some specific components have also been "nerfed", based on what I've seen in my own loot, and on the bazaar the past couple of days. For example, I haven't seen a level 2 capacitor with over 900 energy OR over 32 recharge rate since the patch. Most of what I've seen are in the 700s in energy, and averaging around 28 recharge rate. Who knows what else has changed?

And for the "broken" shipwright classes that keep complaining for nerfs....I mustconfess I've never spent 6.4 million credits on supplies from a "broken" class before. When chefs were broken, I don't recall giving them that kind of money. Yes I do keep track of it, and I spent another 1.4 million credits last night on components for my MP ship, of which my loot (which consists of 3 houses full, 1 bank, and a Nova) can not compete. Specifically, armor at 2300 hitpoints, reactor with 19k energy, shields with 2200 front/back and 14 recharge rate, 3 Mark 4 protons launchers (can never be looted), and a small crate of Mark 4 proton missiles (averaging 4500 credits per shot, and can you say expendable necessity?) Careful what you ask for. We'll be running out of items to RE, meaning your "resource free" income of RE'ing our looted components @ $10k creds per level will soon be diminished, and you might actually have to stock a shop to make money.

Well said - this comes from a shipwright too.

I agree with you, but I know my craft - theinept shipwrights who have no idea what they are doing are the ones complaining.

I did fly against some static Spawns in Endor-Durillium Sea (Death Watch Tier/5), in my Krayt with a Gunner (1-1-1-1). And i got Loot of nearly every third craft that did go BOOM. Which is far away from a bad ratio.
