/bump

I'm wondering the same, from computer hardware to trade supplys. These are not mission oriented freighters, just random spawns. I'm a privateer, after dock you transfer the cargo but it is nowhere to be found, not inventory, datapad etc.

No apparent way to trade it in either...has anyone tried a junk dealer?

There comes a time in every mans life when 86 years is just too damn long...

Maybe it's intended, after all, how is one supposed to take the inventory out of a freighters hold and stick it in a fighter?

I also tried it with the Sorosuub which is supposed to have a cargo hold of some sort and still nada.

even if you did need a "cargo" ship. it wouldn't suprise me if you couldn't use your yacht for that. considering the damn thing is exempt from just about everything

Y wing is 140000 (what Kg? thats 140 TONS). It has room for a crew of two and I am alone in it. I think I should be able to fit "some computer hardware"...? hehe

Actually...140000 would be 70000 tons.....if it were 140000KG, it would be the equivilent of 154000 tons.

1 ton = 907kg (or 2000lbs)
1 Metric ton = 1000kg

Two different animals...but silly argument anyway given we are talking StarWars so realism is a mute point.

Not arguing just asking - had no idea there is a Ton unit in our (what ever is called - non metric) system...

You can tell I'm not from here Name gives it away.

On the 1st Tier 2 mission i had to disable a ships engine, dock with him for cargo, but i didnt see the cargo so i went back to the Emporers Retreat and he said he retreived the cargo and i got completed mission.Basicly your probably messed up someones mission.

When I tried this a couple times, the warning beep that occurs when you fire on a friendly ship or on someone else's mission, did not happen at all. I'm sure of this as it was a tier three freighter and took me a while to disable. I would have heard a beep in the time it took.
There are random spawns in space, just like on the ground.
So /bump again in the hopes we get an official response.

You only get a beep (or a lockout) on 'mission critical' targets. The ones with brackets around them for the mission holder.

You can indeed fire on, and kill, someone's mission target if it's not one of these locked ones. I did it repeatedly last night (by accident), because I was haunting a ship spawn not knowing it was someone's mission.
They showed up (they had a 'potential target location' waypoint). Were pretty sure what I was killing was their mission, but not positive. We talked, finally got that he was supposed to be looking for data transferred, I disabled the target, he inspected and docked, and got mission complete.

So. I was blowing up his target. It was a 'find the target, disable and dock' mission, so it wasn't a locked target.

That said, I don't remember ANY missions aimed at civilian freighters, so I doubt the cargos being found are the same thing at all.
But I did want to point out that missions aren't completely immune from interference.
