See this is where all the oils barons in the middle east are going wrong. They shouldn't be choking the supply every so often to hike the prices up, they should just start burning 80% of their supplies.

Then they'd be rich!!!

you know, i shudder to think that this economics professor could have been around back in the pernerf engine days... buying them... deleting them. gah it's like a nightmare.

i recently ran into an idiot that actually saved a couple and has been saving level 6 loot ever since. man did i give him a good chiding.

"delete those things! and that 72 pitch level 6? gimme that!"

and when he did i paired it with five other all 52 ypr engines and a 61 top speed right before his eyes. at first he said "WHAT?! NO!" but then i explained that if he did that 100 more times, he could get a firespray disk.

oh, i also named the thing "reverse engineer 6" and put it in the pile with all my other similarly named engines.

DESTROYING items outright to drive up price? Nope, sorry. Not buying the "brilliance" of that.

If I had an inventory of Black Sun helmets filling my bank account right now, I wouldn't destroy 80 of them and sell the last 20.

I'd sell a couple. Current price is 25M on my server. Then I'd wait a week. Sell a couple more.

I couldn't bring myself to destroy a nightsister bicep or a prenerf engine. However, the price of these items speak for themselves. Black sun helmets aren't the best example, as they still drop. But if they were in the same situation as the biceps, you wouldn't be doing yourself a favor by selling a couple a week. You'd make a decent chunk of change, but you'd make more with a little more patience.

And now we've come full circle. Rhu would use a different strategy for selling black sun helmets than I would, and I offered an alternative without any condescending remarks.

SO am I to understand that, according to you, I should grind out Shipwright (5.6million resources to do .. make a note) when the only service it provides is to RE loot components without regard for the pinnacle goal of being able to make a Firespray?

Do you have any appreciation to the storage capacity required to collect loot components to RE?

Do you understand the frustration invovled in collecting the highest quality resources to make the best quality parts?

I joined this game because shipwright sounded, and still is, interesting.

What point is there to Shipwright if all you ever do is build Chassis, and RE components?

Why do I want to RE when I cannot build better? (Thanks for this SOE ... goons!!)

I'm in this game for me and my own enjoyment, not yours.

You wanna whine about bad REs, grind out Shipwright and do it yourself.

I think the point is, RE junk with junk, RE good parts with good parts or sell them for a great deal of credits. For example, take a L6 engine with 68 pitch ... anybody have a price estimate on that? It's PERFECT for a very good RE, you DON'T use that sort of thing for Firespray fodder...
