I have now tried this quest exactly 19 times. I tried it 6 times solo using the techniques listed in this thread, and the other times with a mixed group of pretty high skilled pilots.

We simply cannot complete this thing. That tier 5 in that group tears everyone apart, even some heavy hitting 4444 rebel pilots with good armor/shields. This is just rediculous!

read previous post about how they aggro everyone except tier 3 freelancers.

Any more tips on this? Any specific detail to the tips? This is simply NOT working out.

Hey EMC2, I just did this mission solo. Here's how I did it:

With the first group, I flew up right into the middle of the Hutt group and stopped. When they realized there was a group of Rancor Clan next to them finally (I'm calling this a big bug with the mission - They should start fighitng each other the moment they both exist in the world) I was able to take out the Clan ships while they were fighting the Hutt and took moderate fire.

When I got to the second group, I went right into the middle of the Rancor Clan (Who again, was just sitting there in a big group not moving - bug bug bug) and I set off an Impulse Blast. This INSTANTLY killed 5 of the ships, leaving 3. I disabled each of the three ships' engines, blew them up, and that part was done.

The rest of it turns into an escort mission and it was easy.

Hope this helps!

Finally! Some of this worked. The Impulse didn't do squat, in fact I've never seen it do squat. I ended up jumping within the same sector to keep the mission but get out of trouble. Finally got it done after about 7 jumps and coming in to fight then jump again.

This was insane. Thanks for the help and tips.

Thats really odd, me and my friend that was also on the same mission did it with just the two of us and the Hutt guys didnt do a thing. We went and did his mission right after and accomplished it no problem.

Just completed Tier III and the Rancor Clan mission isn't bugged. That was a cake walk

First off, READ what folks here have said, especially about not killing everything in sight.

Second off, THINK before you set out, are you going to need heavier armour, weapons? Both?

Third off, LOOK when you get there. Where are the bad guys, where's the target? If you run out of the fight are you going to run into trouble?

Fourth, in sector jumps are your friend. Things were getting a little hot for me so I jumped to the nearest hyperspace point, about 8km away from the target area. By the time I got back in,yes another group had spawned but my shields were back up, I was focused again and cleared the deck.

I completed Tier III in a matter of hours. I didn't die once, I took a shedload of damage and had to put up with 75% repairs a couple of times. Give you an idea how FEW ships I took down, I am starting Tier IV with only 100k XP and space in my inventory that'd normally be full of loot.

Have fun, keep trying and you will get through it.

I just did this mission solo 3 nights ago in my Kimogila. I have 1900 f/b shields with 11.5 recharge (RE'd) and 3 level 7 guns all around 2800 max damage and all about .68 to shields and armor. running cap overload 3 and using cap to shield shunt. (must say too I have aced Havoc squadron so this is my second pilot badge and I have a lot of experience on higher tier ships)

How I did it.

Wave one charged directly into the middle of the Rancor ships, shot 4 or 5 of them and charged through the middle of the hutt ships. the rancors then aggro the hutts and the hutts keep em busy while you plow through 1 by 1. I always destroy the highest tier heavy fighters first. they are the ones that will shoot missiles at you

wave 2. same thing. the YT1300 is tier 4 not tier 5. there are a couple tier 5 kimogilas throughout both waves.
