How or what did you do to complete the first mission in the Palace by Beissa? Its the one where you have to disable a frieghter and kill off the Valarian Escorts...

Can disable the Frieghter, but cannot damage any of the escorts at all and they dont damage me. Just the 'beep' when you hit it...

You have the remnants of someone else who came and attacked them possibly, or someone outside of your group hit those targets when they spawned for you. I wish they would set timers on mobs in JTL to release the lock protecting mobs from other players. It's a great "kill steal insulation" design to lock mobs out for others, but it is bugging a lot of quest targets too.

I wish I could say that it was someone elses, but its not. I see them spawn in front of me with the white boxes around the escorts. No other playership are anywhere near them...

Gonna group up and see if that will help...

It took me 4 times to complete the mission. The first couple of times it was the missles killing me so I loaded up some sensor decoys and that helped keep me alive. What I found to work best was to fly litterally into the middle of the "frey" and then the action would start. The hutt fighters would start to engage the rancor pilots and then I'd sit back for a min or two until everyone was busy locking targets. After which, I then was able to plug away at the rancors one at a time without them all aggroing on me at the same time. Was finnaly able to finish it that way. I had L7 equip and flying the Ix and had no issues the 4th time solo.

I'll give that a try. Seems weird that everything would wait for combat until you actually got there. Hopefully this will be good. I have most lvl 7 equipment and a fully loaded Kimogila, so that should be good.

Tried the tactic of shooting at the rancors from behind the Hutts, but the rancor ships never seemed to so much as wake the Hutts up.

If you hyperjump out that fails the mission doesn't it?

This damn thing is killing me. I've done it exactly 26 times now and get my ass handed to me every time. The Hutt's only seem to "wake up" about one time in five or six. This is really pissing me off. Groups can't get it done, I can't get it done.....it's totally borked!

Any more tips on this? Any specific detail to the tips? This is simply NOT working out.

Well, I just helped a guildmate who is running the Jabba missions on this, it was him and me in my Oppressor, I didn't have any problems taking all of them out, the mission seemed pretty much on-par. I do recall the YT, but I'm fairly sure it was a Tier 4 for me.

Hey EMC2, I just did this mission solo. Here's how I did it:

With the first group, I flew up right into the middle of the Hutt group and stopped. When they realized there was a group of Rancor Clan next to them finally (I'm calling this a big bug with the mission - They should start fighitng each other the moment they both exist in the world) I was able to take out the Clan ships while they were fighting the Hutt and took moderate fire.

When I got to the second group, I went right into the middle of the Rancor Clan (Who again, was just sitting there in a big group not moving - bug bug bug) and I set off an Impulse Blast. This INSTANTLY killed 5 of the ships, leaving 3. I disabled each of the three ships' engines, blew them up, and that part was done.

The rest of it turns into an escort mission and it was easy.

Hope this helps!

The 4th mission from Jabba Privateer 3332 is bugged. You are suppose to take out the Rancor Clan who are fighting Hutts in Dath. The Hutts agro and it overwhelms even a large group trying to do this mission. We have tried this over a dozen times and it happens every time. There is also a Tier 5 YT-1300 that crushes the group as well.

Something is wrong with this mission when 5 or 6 Masters and 4444 helping a couple of 3332 is unable to do the mission due to the Hutt ships agro'ing.

easiest way to do this is actually solo, fly right into the center of the hutt ships that are supposed to be helping you, fire 1 shot at the rancor clan, they will fire back and will hit the hutt ships your hiding behind, then the hutt ships and rancor clan will get into it leaving you free to take out hte rancor clan 1 at a time

But see... THAT is the bug.

Shouldn't the Hutt and Rancor ships start fighting each other right when they appear next to each other?

When both groups spawn, they're just "sitting there" in their little groups. When you finally get close enough and shoot one, THEN everything goes into motion.

I believe that is where the bug is.

But Tier 2 Privateers will get agro'd by the Hutts cause they're currently taking missions from the Valarians (enemies of the Hutts). Also Rebels will get agro'd as well. So your best bet is to get someone who is in the same Tier as you or just get a big group to wipe everything out.

Imperial pilots get aggroed by them also.

This is working very easy so, if u hyperjump from dathomir to dathomir the mission is not failing and u with good lvl7 shields they dont get thru it, its taking time with this tactic but its working without any risk

so what exactly did you do EMC2? Specifics would be great seeing as how my forehead hurts from continously bashing it into my monitor after my parlay with the the first tier 3 mission last night. Help...my cranium is at 9% hull integrity...

WAVE 1

I flew up to the Hutts and stopped with them barely in front of me and the Rancor just beyond the Hutts. I fired on the Rancor and waited for them to return fire which hits the Hutt ships to get the Hutts into the action. Then I hit IFF and let the two of them battle it out while I roamed around safely.

After my shields recovered, I selected a few of the Rancor that were more isolated and attacked them, helping the Hutts win the first wave.

WAVE 2

The second wave is obviously where a lot of the issues have been, at least for me. I did the same tactic of approaching with the Hutts between me and the Rancor, but this time (since my IFF had not reset to be reused yet) I hit a hyperjump to Emperor's Hand (same sector). When it hit 75% on calculation I fired on the Rancor....they shot back, got the Hutts into it and just as my shields were collapsing I jumped away.

I then came back to the battle and selectively picked off the more isolated ones. Several times this got a bit out of hand due to those Tier 5's in the group (two Tier 5Rancor Gunships) and I did additional jumps in the sector to escape death. After about 7 jumps and returns it was finally over.

Part3

Then you go rescue a VIP. I went there, docked and was immediately attacked by several different aggresive NPCs. I think some were Witchblood just roaming the area, but I'm not sure. I jumped away again in an effort to survive. On my way back to the scene (about 2 mins after jumping) I got the mission success message.

COMMENTS REGARDING THIS QUEST:

I have all level 7 upgrades on my ship, some of which are pretty amazing loot items and this quest had me near death more times than a fleshwrap wearing dancer beating on a dozen enraged bull rancor with novice brawler and no VKs. I think it is incredibly overpowered at this level of skill. It took me 28 attempts to finlly complete this mission. While I don't mind the repetition of the space mission itself, driving to Jabbas 28 times to get the same mission really pissed me off over a 4 day period. I'm confident that I can effectively turn off my monitor and make it from Bestine to Jabba's Throne Room without so much as bumping a rock or kreetle, and that is just rediculous!

Everyone likes a challenge, but I don't think "same sector jumping" EIGHT times for one quest is exactly a good sign of effective level difficulty, NOR is it very much fun to have to leave a fight in such a "cheap" way just to avoid having to trek back out to Jabba's Palace to start the process all over again.

Good luck.
