Thread: is there a defense againast Epulse3?

Yeah a sort of de-buff would be pretty cool, but then you really need useful PvP commands for the other two pilot professions.
Well, bomber strike would work for the Imperial side. Even if all they did was cloud the RADAR.

Hmmm... why do you have a level 10 capacitator in your vaksai, when a level 2 is enough?
Yup, as Psiko stated, cap energy is also figured into the equation. My current lvl 10 has 1613.9 energy and the one waiting in the wings will have 1855 once RE'd. Again, hit cap OL 4 and that energy doubles to 3710. Over 1000 more energy than any level 8 I have ever looted (once re'd and cap ol 4 is applied).
Although I mostly fly my Oppressor as an Imp or my Krayt as Freelance, I do occasionally like to fly the Vaksai for the pure speed/quick striking power.
Hmm... this make it sounds like you rely a lot on e-pulse in combat. I use it from time to time, but with a level 2 capacitator, I usually only soften my opponent up. I like heavy armour better, since it often saves my ass...
Nope. Mainly use epulse when facing off against multiple attackers after an incident where I had beaten one pilot, waited for him for a second duel against him, only to have him bring a partner. Sincethen, I have decided that I will use epulse when either outnumbered or against any ship with two ordnance or more since that also tends to be an instant kill when going at each other.
Again, I use my oppressor most as Imp and my krayt (level 6 cap in that one cause o my 3 L10s) most. I just like the speed of the Vaksai now and again.
And btw, try looking for lower mass level eight armoron the bazaar. That is part of what enabled me to put that cap in there. Even if that is not a way you want to go, RE'd nyms armor with low mass would benefit you. hehe, that is if you didn't already happen to be using it ![]()
Based on my experience, however, I'm gathering the damage is effectiveness-wise 100% to shields AND armor, as my last experience with it chewed through my entire rear half and over 1100hp of armor like it wasn't even there. There's a fix right there, keep the shield eff at 100%, but move armor eff down to about 10-25%. 10-25% of a 4500-4700 damage jolt would still be a hefty jab - 450-1125 would cut through most people's armor or at least leave them with a pretty big bruise.

Sometime this week(end), I plan on taking my deci up on one comp and my vaksai up on the other and using epulse from different distances (0-400) on a POB shield (3500) and lvl 10 armor (2200 hp each) and seeing the effects.
I was experimenting this weekend a bit with my lvl 2 cap and L8 shield and it seemed that at 50 the blast was more powerful than at 100. At 50, it took out a tier 4 awing but at 100 it only took out shields and 43% of front (was at 57% armor total).
When I get the results, I'll post them here and do a separate post with results (in case anyone is interested
)
Try using weapon overloads while using epulse....For some reason...sometimes the damage bypasses the shields and starts hitting armour...ie at range 300 I epulsed at a Beaker (er...volunteer) and they got 73% shields left....let them recharge fully and epulsed them again with Weapon Overload and they got 73% shields AND 92% armour left....
