Best defense against epulse is to not tick off a Freelancer

Hmmm... why do you have a level 10 capacitator in your vaksai, when a level 2 is enough?

I use Epulse3 all the time when I'm helping out lower level pilots during their missions. I really like it when they sing my praises when I wipe out 5 Teir 2 Y-wings with the push of a button. But anyway. I never use it is a dogfight with another skilled pilot, but it is my first tactic against that rude n00b in his JSF/Bell-22. And with Cap. Overload 4 it really teaches them a lesson.

Yup, as Psiko stated, cap energy is also figured into the equation. My current lvl 10 has 1613.9 energy and the one waiting in the wings will have 1855 once RE'd. Again, hit cap OL 4 and that energy doubles to 3710. Over 1000 more energy than any level 8 I have ever looted (once re'd and cap ol 4 is applied).

Although I mostly fly my Oppressor as an Imp or my Krayt as Freelance, I do occasionally like to fly the Vaksai for the pure speed/quick striking power.

Lol. Ayup, pirate trap three is good for Noob target practice at the most

Buncha tier one pirates that attack me as much as my target. Oh yes, very useful.

Hmm... this make it sounds like you rely a lot on e-pulse in combat. I use it from time to time, but with a level 2 capacitator, I usually only soften my opponent up. I like heavy armour better, since it often saves my ass...

I have used epulse a few times but never in DS. I only use it as a bit of a /bitchslap for jerks that like to jump newbs in regular space (gear up a heavy scyk and fly at 500). Even then it is usually a second round type thing.

Well Tomo flies one...and we all know he's a noob

But no, there is no defense in PvP. It is an I win button, literally. Might as well say in the description, "Push here to win". I have no respect for anyone that uses it in PvP, last ditch or not.

It's really another victim of the whole PvE vs. PvP thing. In PvE, it is far from overpowered, but in PvP it instantly kills. And if they balanced it for PvP (So that it had a chance of disabling your enemy with the risk of you being vulnerable if it didn't) then it would be completely uselss in PvE. They should just bump the damage even higher but not make it effect players or something.

Still rather have it not do damage at all, just scramble electronics. Debuffing droid commands wouldn't be instantly lethal in PvP, but it would be a serious setback.
