Comparable to an Interceptor??? At this point, you could easily make it go faster than the Interceptor because it's got something like ~45k mass more than it lol. Having flown both, the Heavy TIE beats it with its hand tied behind its back, blindfolded and hanging from a tree branch.

I DO want to makea good TIE Inteceptor because it's so cool-looking though.

However. The best ship in the game isthe one -you- personally fly best. Simple as that, I kid you not El Capitane.

To me, "best ship" depends on what faction i happen to be, and what i have it in my head that i want to do before i press the launch button.

If im rebel:
PvE = heavy xwing. Just pillage the skies for loot with a quickness.
PvP = A wing (duh!)
Mining = B wing

If im privateer
PvE = Dunelizard or Krayt (although lately ive been using the JSF for this)
PvP = havnet realy pvped since going privateer i cant answer this one just yet, but im leaning on the vaskai
Mining = Krayt (no contest here!)

If im Imperial
PvE = T/A or T/O
PvP = T/I, RGI, or T/O
Mining = T/O

Best ship, hmmm thats a tough one. They are all good ships if you know what you are doing, how to select your components, how to use a droid/FC, how to fly.

Recently I have compleated 3 tracks solo, 1 rebel,1 freelance, 1 imperial useing only the heavy varients of the noob ships. This includes the Corvette encounters to get ace. I died less than 10 times over all 3 tracks.So based on this experience I would have to say the heavy Z-95, Skyke,Tie are the best ships.

I've only flown Rebel, but i can tell you right now, if you want a forgiving ship, that also serves as a space battering ram, go for the y-wing Longprobe. so much mass you can wrap a cruiser around the thing. put in the right engines, and manuverability is not even an issue.

B-wing looks cool, can carry 4 guns and 2 missiles but man does it feel like you're wrestling in slow drying cement to fly it.

Although some people fly them really well, search the forums for "space pvp starsider sytle" and watch the video, there's a guy flying one in that vid that does some crazy manouvers.

As for best ships, depends on how YOU want to fly, whether you want to be a dogfighter (i.e JSF, B-22, A-wing) or a heavy support / bomber (oppressor, krayt, b-wing) pilot.

People complain on the forums about how rubbish the KSE Firespray is considering how hard it is to get one but I love flying mine, it's personal taste at the end of the day, happly flying.

im loving my Y-Wing, big engines and big guns. i call it the Space Swine(my parody name instead of using A-10 Warthog).
