Well, that really depends. For the stats, you should check the FAQ.


A lot of people will swear by the Jedi Starfighter. It has a high mass and it's pretty dang nimble. Plus it has a hitbox as small as an A-wing's. The JSF is a reward for an Imperial quest, but a lot of folks will switch back to Reb or neutral once they get it.


A lot of Imperials are using the Royal Guard Interceptor also. It's faster than the JSF, but not as nimble. Due to a current bug, its hitbox is ridiculously small. A lot of people consider it to be an exploiter's craft.



When I get Ace, I plan on having the following in my datapad: A Heavy TIE (nimble as a JSF with slightly more mass and a larger hitbox), either the Royal Guard Interceptor or the JSF (probably I'll switch 'em out), a TIE Oppressor (for bombing runs), and a Decimator. And my Yacht.


The Oppressor can carry slightly less than the TIE Bomber, but it's much more maneuverable. I don't like the JSF's non TIE design. It doesn't look like it belongs in the Imperial Navy. However, its effectiveness is undenyable. The reason I'm going to have a Royal Guard TIE rather than a standard Interceptor or TIE Advanced is because of the increased mass, not the bug. I hope that the bug will be fixed ASAP, as it's dishonoring a sweet-looking and sweet-performing ship.


Right now, I have an Advanced, the JSF, an Agressor, and my Yacht.

Ummm... hexagonal vertical wings and a hexagonal cockpit front window. It's a pretty TIE-looking design IMO. It was obviously put in the movies to show a precursor to the Episode IV TIEs.

Jedi Starfighter is the Uber McNoober ship you're undoubtedly looking for. Its easiest to get one if you are an Imperial but really its not that much harder for a freelancer to get.

Yeah, it is a fine, fast, and fun to fly ship. However, the poster seems like a shiny new pilot recruit, so therefore all these suggestions to get a JSF are pointless since he has to work up to 4/3/3/3 just to fly on.

He seems concerned only with the "best" so there you have it. Imperial gives you the JSF and the RGI. Hard to argue with.

Honestly, if i were you, id go rebel pilot first.

That is, unless your willing to take a crash course in ship parts: crafted and Re engineering 101 and 102.

Personally, I like the freelancer ships more than imperial or rebel ones. Dunelizards arehard to beat with ~90k mass, 2 weapon slots, 1 missile slot, and great handling at Tier 2. The Heavy Syck is also great and will get you easily to 4333, as will the Dunelizard. The Rihk is one of the better upper tier freelancer ships, but takes some serious work to optimize it for daily PvE use (not including the Corvette ).


The Y-Wing tops the Dunie in mass but has a single pilot useable weapon and missile slot. Rebel ships really don't get good till Tier 3 (Heavy Z not counted at this point) with the X-Wing. The A-Wing is more suited to PvP than PvE (this is where the Heavy Z shines over the A-Wing in my opinion).


As for imperial ships, the Heavy TIE is the best fighter. Higher mass than most TIEs and handles very nice. Beats out the trainer and Tier 2 cert TIE hands down and is comparable to an interceptor. Advanceds are probably the next best, then Oppressors.


For a starting pilot in any faction, the Heavy Syck/TIE/Z-95 are probably the best ships you can get... but they aren't cheap. The starter ships will tide you over till you get 2111 or 2211 pilot. After that, look at getting something like the Dunie, Heavy TIE, or Heavy Z-95.The Y-wing and TIE/ln are not worth investing in.

85K mass, 2 guns, 1 missle, teir 1.

One of the best ships in the privateer lineup, and real cheap for a SW to make.
