More than likely you'll need to mine the crap again. I don't think they would do a database pass of POB components (it would be a relatively complex one) for such a "minor" change.

Sadly, the elite component changes will only affect newly created components. As for having to mine the stuff again, it'll be easier this time, as I've lowered the asteroid resource requirements on these components by 50% in many cases to make them a bit more desirable to craft, and have made asteroids give more resources when mining them. It should be easier to get the required goods to kit your big ships out, which is good, because I want to see more people flying them after these changes.

Sounds great Darth_Platypus! With lowered requirements, mabey shipwrights willbe able to charge reasonable prices on them (prices of asteroid resources drove these parts up to 1,000,000+ credits in many cases, unless of course you just mine the stuff yourself). Hopefully these parts become more commonplace than they are now.

This sounds awsome. Call me crazy, but I like space mining. It's a nice change from the normal grind. And if resources are easier to get and more needed, then I'm a happy camper... er... miner.

You're crazy.

Yay, I'm crazy!

i believe this is definetly a good change... we need these upgrades for the pob ships... they should be able to take way more then 2-4 hits from fighters..... and they should wipe the floor with fighters this would encourage teamwork and groups to take them down instead of 1 person in a light fighter killing it... it should be IMPOSSIBLE for them to kill it solo but it should be pretty hard... hopefully with this change POB ships will be able to take more then 2-4 direct hits

To be honest, I'm really curious to hear what the exact changes are. The only really deficient parts from a combat standpoint are the Shields and Armor. The Engines and Boosters almost no one has because of the borked schematics.Definitely not neededare 10k damage Null Bolts or a 100 Regen/2000 Cap EnergyElite Capacitor, then you are getting a little out of whack again, just in the opposite direction.

If the new armor and shields give us some greater measure of survivability, and the engines and boosters start becoming worth a spit, then we've got our fighting chance without possible domination.

Have to disagree with you Janu. The caps and weapons DO need to be upgraded also. Maybe not a 10k weapon, but definatly higher than the 5k or so that an RE'd level 10 can produce. Until and unless they somehow make the turrets a bit easier to aim with anyway. And the big caps will be needed to run these bigger guns and supply a sump for bigger shields. The elite cap right now can get about 60 regen/1500 cap energy, not bad mind you, but still just barely higher than a good RE'd lvl 10.

Engines? Well current engines seem ok for the bigger ships. Although they do need to do something about the accel/decel of the chassis. The Y-8 rates are about right. It's a larger ship. But the other POB's shouldn't give much up in accel to the master level fighters.
