Thread: Cool yet another spam thread devoted to something plainly stated in the Stickied FAQ.

Your example of the Red TIE quest question is fallacious. That's not the type of question that get that response.

Common examples are:

1: "Help I'm stuck in space, how do I land?"

2: "OMG, I'm a REBEL and I don't get a JSF? WHY? WTflock!"

3: "Where is my trainer? I was told by my prior trainer, but I didn't bother to pay attention."

4: "I have enough experience to get but no players will train me and my trainer keeps trying to give me a mission, instead of training me. I'm bugged!"

5: "How do I solo the Vette?" (Thread inserted between 2 threads called "Vette Soloing Guide v 1.593234" and surrounded by threads "Help! I need to kill the Vette!" and "How do I do the Ace mission?"

6: This week's winner: "Do I have to grind 7.5 million exp for master?"

7: And today's big winner: "Where is Theed Palace?" "In Theed" "Yeah, but where?"

If a persons used to RPG mechanics i can see why JTL might be too hard for them. Not everyone is a "twitch" player, and even then not everyone has the "nack" for making quick decisions

But in regards to the threads we see around here, that doesn't excuse them. If a mission is too hard it's simple enough to either come here asking for help with tactics, ship loadout, etc, or find someone to fly with you. The threads where posters are getting attacked tend to be the ones where someone gets blown up twice and decides JTL is poorly designed and it's all the fault of the devs. Then they post here for...well, I'm not sure why they post here. Usually they're also calling for some rediculous change to JTL to make it suit them, instead of learning to fly better - things like lowering mission difficulty, etc.

The folks who try and honestly have trouble (and want help!) I'm all for helping, both here and in game.

Long or not, the FAQ exists for a reason. It's a cumulation of alot of knowledge and was rewriten in anticipation for all the new ppl many of us knew would come with ROTW. Its could be one of the best FAQs of any profession, and is an excellent resource. Use it. Hell, i still use it myself occasinally.

Theres ALOT of things involved in learning pilot. Thats why the FAQ is so long. Nobody wants to have to re explain the game basics (when there are so many of them) 4 or 5 times a day.

Don't get me wrong, many of us love to help, but sometimes its really aggrivating when metaphorically speaking, you got someone trying to push a door open, yelling and screaming becuase its not opening, when theres a sign thats clearly labled "Pull to open".

Ya know what i mean?

And you post this crap. Simple solution, DON"T POST AT ALL. Like he said go stroke yourself somewhere else.

The fact that you can take the time to post crap like this but piss and moan about people asking basic questions is just plain stupid.

OK here's a test.

Question - Where do I start the Red Tie quest?

Answer 1 - Kashyyyk Space station.

Answer 2 - OMG this has only been asked about eleventy million times. It's covered in the FAQ. Why can't you just go read the FAQ and stay off my boards unless you have something that I deem worthy of a post. I R 1337. PWNED

I'm not just posting this in order to stand up for a friend but seriously, this is probably the most retarded reply I ever seen. In this post you're basically doing exactly what you're saying you don't like. Hipocrisy aye...

What Dum said is perfectly reasonable. The fact that people aren't patient enough to read a FAQ which -DIDNT- have to be made, but was due to the kind hearted nature of some of the veterans here doesn't seem to show anything for thier support? So you complain because even though help is directly in front of your face kindly labelled FAQ, it still isn't good enough?

As I said, this is a very two way situation of some people not being very helpful but at the same time and more often than not...new people just not trying hard enough and not showing any initiative.

Now to be blunt without being sarcastic..so don't yell too much at me if you are a pilot needing help....

1. Read the instruction manual.

2. Consult the FAQ

3. If you still need help....'then' start a new thread stating your question. It really is that simple.

oh and 4. Ask someone in game.

Definitely the funniest of the day! I was tempted to answer "there's a secret passge to the palace in the back room behind the bar of the second cantina in Theed...." but decided the irony would be lost on him.
