WHY is it that people cant just either A.) be helpfull and answer the Newbs questions(regardless if its in the FAQ) B not post if they can't.

I understand some people think they are SOOOO smart and never make Newb mistakes or fail to read things that are posted for others information. Some people just dont have the time or the patience to read the LONG FAQ for what they want to know...

SO please if you can contribute to NEW people joining in the JTL part of the game by answering the question and not Being SOOO much smarter and saying things like the subject of this message or laughing at person asking then dont reply to their messages...

Just my rant for the week

I agree but...most of the time, these people who're whining or asking for help are asking things which ARE STATED IN THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL.

Now, I'm not going to sit here and repeat somthing which SOE kindly added in well presented typed text.

I don't have JTL instruction manual - even the one for the ground game was pathetic originally now its just completely irrelevant post CU. Didn't even know there was one for JTL.

As for the attitude in here, occasionally someone asks something downright lazyand I have no problem with people telling them so.But actinglike this isan old timers'vets' club,as two or three on here do, its just as bad as all the 1337 kids on the jedi board.

So true...In fact..yeh very true. Ego is part of piloting though, it is what makes some people better at their game and what makes some people into complete jerks or both. As I've always said, ego works both ways and it isn't really a question of not having an ego...hell that'd be boring, but a matter of using your ego in acceptable proportions, in a constructive manner. It is a primoral part of what makes us human and is essential to our survival. People who say they don't have it are lying and it shows up with piloting because in a dogfight....you use that 'hey I got to survive and kill this person' part of your brain...its animal instinct. Some people just have more control over it than others and to those people, well done...but don't go around being self righteous about it.

Ego is like...well I have nothing against people saying they're a good pilot if they really are a good pilot and even if they're not...well the fact they say they are shows they want o be at least and I'll try my best to help them become a good pilot. Although....my oppinion will change dramatically of that pilot if they instead went around saying "I am the best, noone can touch me" etc....even if noone could, I'd still lose respect for them because a pilot that shockingly amazing...should know better and shouldn't feel the need to self congratulate.

So in summary, moderate amounts of self esteem = good and you're cool with me...[take that as you wish].

Dealing in self congratulatory superlatives = well, first of all, I will challenge you to a duel in order to show you , you probably are't as wonderful as you think you are. If I lose..then well, ok but if you carry on being so in love with yourself, then you're going on ignore because to me ..a bad winner is as bad if not worse than a bad loser. [take that as you want also]

Long or not, the FAQ exists for a reason. It's a cumulation of alot of knowledge and was rewriten in anticipation for all the new ppl many of us knew would come with ROTW. Its could be one of the best FAQs of any profession, and is an excellent resource. Use it. Hell, i still use it myself occasinally.

Theres ALOT of things involved in learning pilot. Thats why the FAQ is so long. Nobody wants to have to re explain the game basics (when there are so many of them) 4 or 5 times a day.

Don't get me wrong, many of us love to help, but sometimes its really aggrivating when metaphorically speaking, you got someone trying to push a door open, yelling and screaming becuase its not opening, when theres a sign thats clearly labled "Pull to open".

Ya know what i mean?

And you post this crap. Simple solution, DON"T POST AT ALL. Like he said go stroke yourself somewhere else.

The fact that you can take the time to post crap like this but piss and moan about people asking basic questions is just plain stupid.

OK here's a test.

Question - Where do I start the Red Tie quest?

Answer 1 - Kashyyyk Space station.

Answer 2 - OMG this has only been asked about eleventy million times. It's covered in the FAQ. Why can't you just go read the FAQ and stay off my boards unless you have something that I deem worthy of a post. I R 1337. PWNED

Not exactly a starter ship, but I did fly my first two Tier 3's in a crafted Z-95 with no armor.

I was refering to the crap you posted. Solution. Don't post at all!. Funny how you accuse me of posting crap, and insinuate that i shouldnt post at all, yet you do exactly the same thing i did, only on the opposite side of the argument. The other exception being that i wasnt flaming, you were. Which makes the hipocracy in your post even more tasty.

/golf clap

So why not practice what you preach eh? As you can probably tell I'm quite eager to help out and discuss things Infact, i even try to promote discussion on things most people probably don't think about. However, when it comes to frequently asked questions that get tiresome and reduantant to answer or to see inundate the forums constantly, I, like many others will refer you to The pilot forums Frequently Asked Questions

So kindly can the bullcrap, and bark up someone else's tree.

All I can say is the universe is full of different people. If some of them don't answer all forum posts the way you want them too, well thats your problem.

And, if "Some people just dont have the time or the patience to read the LONG FAQ for what they want to know" and you expect me or anybody else to cater to their "special needs", well screw you for assuming I have the time and patience to do for them what I had to do for myself. Actually I can say alot about this subject mainly around the fact that there are a lot of people in this game who will waste your time becasue they always take the easy route by having somebody else do their work. Happens to me all the time and thats where the saying " it deosnt pay to be a nice guy" comes from.

Finally, there is nothing wrong with pointing someone to a FAQ instead of answering their quesions. It makes them aware there is a FAQ wich I would consider very usefall information. If you have a problem with that well, screww you
