Two thoughts:

- I cannot think of a ship that has more firepower than the B wing. Seems to me top end firepower potential mixed with high handling makes for an overpowered ship.

- Beleive it or not, there are PLENTY of targets for the B wing in deep space.

If the rebels get a big boost on the b-wing, then the imps better get the oppressor boosted up as well, in either more mass or more maneuverability. Putting the b-wing to halfway between the y and x wings would put the b-wing at twice the handling of the oppressor, with 70k more mass. Even putting the b-wing at marginally more maneuverable than the y-wing would put it close to the oppressor handling, with 70k more mass. The only advantage the oppressor would then have would be it's smaller size, which while not insignificant, is already trivialized some by the krayt and it's 40k more mass and extra pilot fired gun and turret, and identical handling.

The way I see it, the big problem here is that none of the Master level ships are really viable for PvP. An A-Wing and the TIE Advanced are going to kill a B-Wing or an Oppressor easily, given equal pilot skill. We need Master ships to be exactly that, Master ships. At this point I would rather see the Oppressor in the Tier 4 cert, and the Advanced as the Master Cert. The Oppressor is impressive for PvE, but once you are Master...well PvP is what is the "end game" and you have to go back to the Advanced, and if you want to PvE you can still load up the Oppressor. Would just be nice to use the Oppressor when it is useful...which is the Tier 4 XP grind. I am talking about Imp ships mostly, because that is where my experience is, but from this thread it looks like the Reb ships suffer the same problem.

An A-wing killing an oppressor easily? O_O You must have some bad oppressor pilots then... my oppressor eats a, b, x, y-wings and firesprays for lunch

2) Manouverability should be about X-wing.

Hmm now thats a definite NO from a rebel pilot.

I deleted the RL examples because they are pointless as this is a game, and in the old X-Wing games the B-Wing also did nothandle as well as an X-Wing.

I do agree though that the p/y/r rates do need a fix on the B-Wing but certainly not up to the point where it outperforms a fighter vessel.

*Edited*Actually my B-Wing outspeeds my X-Wing because I can dump a "Mark V rocket type" engine in it (speed maxed).

I have to say that there isn't nothing wrong with the b-wing. It's fast and manorable to be good pvp machine but in pve it's great. I have flied whit it against 8 black sun's tier 4 and they didn't even scratch it's paint. You can try to do that duty mission whit x and a. It will be wery hard on those two. A has the speed but cannot handle the damege, X is better but it collects more hits than a besauce it is bigger ship than A.

Let's really look about the b-wing whit my config my max damage per one round of guns is near 11k. Add to that gun over load 3 and you get firepower whit capital F. Think about it whit two rounds of my guns i do same amount damega as space bomb 2 does, scary isn't it

Whit good condensator and over load 3 you can fire whit that config for ever.

Whit my engine and overload 3 it goes over 1k and whit truster 1.2k. If i need to combat whit it i drop the throtle to 50% and now it is turning just great. Like a y-wing + the inertia thing in turns but you can learn to fly whit it.

I know it is not the a-wing but you cannot turn a wing either if your throtle is below 50% it handles great after you give it more than 80 % of throtle.

Whit b-wing you need to learn to fly smootly it will not turn or change direction on top of a coin like a/x wing does.

Only thing that i think need's fixing are those ship parts.

Shipwright's parts sucks in every other area execpt reactors and armors ( i know that they can make deasent engines but 95+ top speed 60 turnig and weigt 50 t try to but that in a a-wing ). And let's forget every other loot item 6+ than robot interface and gun's. Every other item are not worth mention they are too heavy and powerless if you count the weight/power ratio even the guns sucks besauce level 4 level guns are better in this way than level 6+ items. And you van RE'd those low level items easily but try to do same to level 10 you need 10 level part and whit current droprates that takes forever in kessel agains tier 5 mobs

struid.

PS. try to fly the nova if you think that b - wing is sluggish. Hit the booster and relase it and enjoy that stalling efect what it wil do.

Ask for more content if you really want to do petitions. That is the real game killer if you ask me. Ask your selfs what will you do after you get KSE. And get bored about PvP.

The B-Wing should be right on par with the TIE Bomber, period. It's go the most mass of any rebel ship, the TIE Bomber has the most mass of any Imperial ship. They are both bombers, seems only fair to me that they handle the same.

Now comes to the issue of balance. The Y-Wing should probably be moved to Ace Pilot box, the B-Wing should be dropped down to tier 3, the Longprobe to tier 4, the x-wing on tier 2, A-wing on Tier 3, two models of the Z-95, one for tier 1, the next for tier 2, the nooby one should just remain what it is now.

I think that would bring a little more balance, but perhaps increase the maximum mass on the Y-Wing to put it a little more on par with the Oppressor, while reducing the B-Wing's mass a bit.
