Thats true, i suppose you can legitmatly play the blame game due to ship balance

Agreed. I don't see it as an excuse when I die in my A-wing, I mean...as I said before, I'm sureI can handle an A-wing way better than I would an uberly tricked out JSF but it is kind of funny when I shoot down a new pilot, on occasion they have shouted from their JSF cockpits "well thats no fair..the A-wing is a cheater ship!". I don't argue with them. I just send them links to the pilot forums for education.

As a note on the fitting of a Protecto-net and QID into an Advanced, I was able to fit both, plus two RE'd level 6 guns (one 3k damage, the other 2.7k both with eff. 600+) last night. The RE Protecto-net is 1867.4 energy drian, 16985.4 mass, 2077 f/b protection and 16.5 regen. The RE QID went 1529 energy, 20381.9 mass, 74.8/75.7/74.7 PYR and 101.8 speed. I'm thinking of calling on our JSF Prodigy and seeing how the Advanced fairs this time.

Wow. Tomo uses one too, seriously, im bored enough, maybe i should swallow some pride, admit defeat and go get one myself. Seeing top pilots using these ships makes me think its ok to use em. Seriously.

I'm actually trying to move away from it. Basically I got hooked on it so I could keep up (or try to, anyways) with Tomo during events.

Why do I have this feeling that when my A-wing finally crosses Tomo, I will be coming out of the encounter in a flash frozen petrified state with chunks of A-wing lodged in my behind.

The thing i hate the most, is from a logical standpoint, it makes absolutely no sense to use any other ship.

I think it safe to say, that i have no obsession with any one ship. Thats evident in my factional fence sitting. If i were it would probably be an interceptor. But its more of a preference then an obsession. I really should give the A wing more of a go. It just never quite grabbed me like a tie for pvp for some reason, although i havent PvPed much in one either.

I like A-wings mainly because I think the fins look cool. I don't like the QID style fin so that is why I tried to upgrade to a new QID and had a different lvl 8 engine thrown in first so it'd go back to looking old skool. TWhen I say fly the ship you think looks coolest I'm really not joking

I like the QID fins, the inward slant on them reminds me of a stealth fighter, SR71 or something like that.

Still not completely done with my A wing. Deciding working out the missle tube and shields. Maybe ill give it a flight tonight when i get home from work.

Janu, yeah the A-wing doesn't have room for the L10 (and neither does an Advanced ), but the Heavy Z does, and I place my advantage over him in our third duel squarely on the L10 engine that powers my ship. Also, I don't think a L2 capacitor will hurt your shunt too much as long as you stay as nimble and hard to hit as your opponent; I'm running on a crafted mark I in small fighers, it takes a couple shunts to get to full but as long as I don't break stride to do it she works.

MZ, FalinMor, wish I could tell you want isgoing into my Advanced, but its just not there yet. I'm hoping I can get my QID and my new Protecto-net light enough that I can swap them for my L10 and current Protecto-net and fit the rest of my JSF loadout into the Advanced. But I need alot lighter RE 8 engine and RE 7 shields then I currently have, and I think even then I may be 2 - 3K heavy. Odds are if that's the case, I may be down grading my dual L6 guns for a L6/ L5 combo or dual L5s, which means I need to build a nice L5 or two (mainly cause mine are all blue on Larikuj and I'd like green for Mard's TIEs ). If / When I get it finished, I might do a Project Advanced thread if I think it works great enough. The QID is also being put off because I really want a faster QID then the half dozen I've gotten my hands on so far.
