Thread: Anyone ever fly or face off against a Vaksai in PvP?

It may seem like a dirty trick to do some of the tactics talked about in previous posts but think of it like this its supposed to be simulated space combat modeled after some real life principles. Take for example if your in air combat in real life flying a 30 million dollar piece of machinery you WILL do whatever trick you can come up with 1. Win the dogfight 2. Be home in time to kiss the wife and kids. But unlike our simulated combat in game you dont get the luxury of popping back in at the station when your bird gets blown up into a million tiny pieces.

The only large scale space PvP event I went to, I went in my Vaksai. My side was heavily out numbered, and I know I was huge frikken target, but I managed to stay in the fight for a good while each wave. /shrug.

Off-topic: You should come out again. We can always use more pilots. Event's at 7:00 PM EST tomorrow again, just like always.

For all intents and purposes, I'm still a PvP pilot-in-training, getting used to my ship, so I haven't used EP3 much, although I've experimented with it occasionally.

When I decide my PvP training is complete, then I'll add the Energy Pulse tactic to my repertoire. Right now, extended dogfights are more desirable for learning.

Overall I think the Vaksai may present a larger target than most other PvP ships in use, but don't let its size fool you. It is a fast, agile and absolutely deadly ship in the hands of the right pilot.

true true. Getting used the the way the Vak moves has been the hardest thing for me. I have been an Imp pilot since JTL beta and for 90% of that timeI have been behind the stick of an Interceptor and RGI. My alt is neutral and was only novice freelance up until a week ago. A friend of mine wouldn't shut up about the Vaksai. So I said ok ok. I'll get the alt aced up and give it a try. I wish I would have done it sooner.

The manuverabilty of the Vak isn't much different from the Interceptor. I find that the real challange is being aware of it's bulk and where her hitbox is. I have to admit the RGI has spoiled me and made me sloppy seeing as how it really has no hitbox at all So if I can learn to fly the Vak as well as I can fly my old original Interceptor....yikes. It's going to take a few weeks and a few losses but I'll get it eventually.

I have done some PVP and so far my only loss has been against another Vak. My friend as a matter of fact. Who happens to be sporting a gun that really should be on a POB ship. In PVE I have had to adjust my tactics a bit. In the RGI you can fly circles around a Nova and maybe take one or two hits while telling the rookie pilots watching (who think you are amazing but don't know about the hitbox..shhh) not to try this at home. I've tried doing this in the Vak while in DS and have had my ego pimp slapped. Getting the Vaksai will only make you a better pilot I think. If you can fly the hell out of a Vaksai, B-wing, POB, or Oppressor then IMO, you are a Pilot. Any rookie can fly an Interceptor, A, JSF/B-22, and get some kills. So my hat is off to any pilot who can take these big beasts and wrack up kill after kill.

I really think if people can get over the size and really start flying it, the Vaksai will put everything else to rest. I'm working on making mine a POB killer for when the new POB parts upgrade comes out.

I am really surprised more people don't fly them more often. So maybe we should just shut up about them

After outfitting my Vaksai, I won't fly anything else. Nothing else compares to it. I love the look of the ship too, always fancied the Kihraxz but the 40-some thousand mass doesn't make for a very good pve/pvp ship.
